Atelier DURDAN
FRANCE
Hello everyone,
As you know, Chloe joined the Atelier DURDAN two months ago. Thanks to her expert hands in razor finishing, I have been able to free up some time to move forward on the following items:
- We have invested in a new CNC milling machine. While our current machine works well, its flimsy structure leaves a lot of machining marks that we have to remove by hand. The new machine should arrive within a month if all goes well, and will bring unparalleled manufacturing quality and reduced production time.
- We are in the process of developing the purchase of tribofinishing machines that are used to automatically remove much of the burrs and machining marks. Development is underway and I will share more information on this soon.
- Finally, I am working on the development of a new GEM blade shaver, which is coming along nicely. I will share photos of this unique razor in the coming weeks.

Thank you for your attention and continued support. Please feel free to ask questions or share your comments.

Based on the Ti passaround, hard to imagine your production standards getting even higher. Outstanding workmanship as have come to expect from French: toiletries, clothing, cyclery, weaponry and motorsports manufacturers

Can't wait to hear more about the GEM razor and hope there will be a pass around or two.

Very much enjoyed testing the La Faulx but GEMs are my format of choice.

I have to be honest. The blade protruding out the back like the 3d printed raptor razor doesn't appeal to me on a higher end razor. I'm probably in the minority but just my take.

How do you name this beauty?
I'd like to see images of the razor alone, with no stand.
The handle looks gourgeous.

Always interested in new GEM razors but agree the blade should be enclosed.

Blackland has the most elegant solution for a compact head. I'll take an oversized head like the Wolfman over a razor with the back of the blade exposed.

We appreciate your interest in our GEM razors and take into account your preference for a design where the blade is completely hidden. It's true that Blackland offers an elegant solution for a compact head and that some people prefer razors with the back of the blade hidden, like the Wolfman.

However, we'd like to hear more about why you think a design with the blade fully hidden would be preferable, given that the back of the blade is neither sharp nor aggressive ?
