Asylum Injector Razor

Firstly, chromium is NOT a coating and you cannot be allergic to it as it is not touching your skin. It is only the very edge that is SPUTTERED with chromium (and other metals) that allows the edge to maintain it's sharpness and not chip as easily. The PTFE coating is over that edge and is so thin that it buffers the edge and is what imparts the smoothness. Sharpness has nothing to do with smoothness. They are separate factors. The blade is cutting hair THROUGH the PTFE coating as it is molecularly thin.

Thank you for clearing that - but my skin always reacts with blades which have chrome coating. Shark, Wilkinson, BIC, Derby, Schick - thats why I am thinking my skin doesnt like it

Idk for sure and I’m just throwing this out there but some people have a nickel allergy so it could be varying amount of nickel in blade?

I have already understood it but possibly expressed myself wrongly since American is not my mother tongue - sry. What I meant is that my skin - with all blades - whether Shark, Schick, Wilkinson - where chrome stands ob the packaging/label my skin itches after shaving and is red - the entire skin without exception. Do you have an explanation for this? Otherwise, I have no problems with blades. Thats why I dont use or try Blades where Chrome is on label

You've clearly found what is a common denominator for an issue for you. You don't owe anybody an explanation and should do exactly what you need to do and avoid the ones that are causing you irritation. Happy shaves to you buddy!

I've tried a few shaves with the yellow Schick blades (provided to me by a couple of excellent members here, thanks!). I'm starting to think that this razor just isn't for me. every shave that I've had with it, I get cuts (and I mean CUTS, not nicks), and even though the yellows are better, the shave still feels pretty harsh. I've switched back to my go-to DE's in between, but still haven't been able to get it right. I'm going to try a few more times, but there will be a point where I don't want to keep trying.

I can't shave every day, even with my favorite razors. Every 2 days, or every 3 days is my typical routine.

Has anyone compared the Asylum Injector to the Mingoose?

Almost impossible to cut or nick yourself with.  Henson Shaving  I'd recommend for you the "Mild".

It’s a completely different shaving experience.  I’m sure Jamie could get the right blade, angle and pressure if he worked a little at it with the Asylum.  

However, there are people who try it and don’t want to adapt from DE shaving and this would make the asylum injector less flexible for it.

Has anyone compared the Asylum Injector to the Mingoose?

I'll be able to answer my own question soon. Just ordered the Asylum. Really enjoying the Mingoose lately.
