I had a hunch you might say something like that about the Guard. It works well for me for the odd shave or while traveling but I don't have the skin/beard issues that folk like andrewjs18 and you do. I believe Andrew didn't think the Guard was too bad but I don't positively remember.
Would a Schick Injector work better for you and, if you are flying somewhere to catch your cruise, would the injector system pass muster with the TSA? Just a thought.
