Pre-shave: Stirling Glacial Post Shave Balm
Shave: Karve Overlander - Personna Comfort Coated (2) - Turn N Shave Half-Gel Shoat - Hendrix Classics Havana Breeze Soap
Post-shave: Alum block - Aloderma 99% Aloe vera gel
What a good shave. I am starting to be quite impressed with this Overlander. It's only been two shaves, but it really has done a great job. Smooth as the day is long, and still efficient enough to give me a BBS if i do all three passes and clean-up. Other razors this smooth could never give me a BBS - not with 6 passes. Lol.
Some parts of the shave didn't perform as well as others. For example, the shoat brush really is not a stellar brush. I promised myself I'd see it through, so I'm back to break-in lathers for another 10 days. That should put it at the upper limits of what it takes. If it's no good still at the end, it's getting torn out and I'm going to get a Maggards 26 to fill the handle. No more dealing with a bursh that's a piece of shoat.
(couldn't help myself)
I also tried the Alum block as
Marko suggested. Honestly, I don't like alum as a post shave too much. Nonetheless, it did the job fine. Finished it with some aloe for the skin healing and hydrating properties.
Happy Friday DFS!
