I'm sure it doesn't harm him to say where his razor is made in this thread, unless he doesn't want to. His choice.

The more info he offers, the more customers he'll get.

Info like this are essential for many people. I have yet to read this very simple info on a site. Retailers' and maker's sites should have it mentioned already.

As I said, when a razor is made in the US or in Europe, they mention it everywhere. Now the lips are sealed and all these info are hidden. Why?
Stop playing dumb friend. Go to Maggard and look at the listing for the V3A, or Italian Barber for the Razorock Mentor. No indication where they are made. Do you really not understand why? Of course you know why, because it is their calculation that advertising a third world production identity, or worse, a Chinese Identity because of politics, will cost them more customers than ultra-transparency wins them. So far it's only you insisting on knowing the address of Steve's machine shop.

I'm not playing dumb. I'm asking a fair question. I'm insisting because you keep coming back. Stop commenting on a subject you don't know for sure and move on. I don't like assumptions. Take your assumptions and your irony elsewhere.

The razors you mention cost a fraction of the razor I'm intetested in. If I'm going to spend $120-130 on a razor, I want full transparency.

I don't care if it's made in China. This is what you can't understand. The OneBlade I had costs twice more than the Outlaw and bought it because I had no problem that is made in China. I don't care about politics.

If anyone or Vlasta can answer my question regarding the originality of the razor, please let ne know. Otherwise, stop quoting me.

You asked the "why don't they" question to the forum and I answered with my best guess as to why don't they. Your personal politics were not indicated to be a factor in their decision making. Nothing ironic in the response.

Oh god. Just stop. And saying I'm playing dumb is pretty ironic. My question was rhetorical. I don't like hidden info. You clearly don't know the answer, so STOP quoting me. Stop coming back. Move on. Thanks.

There’s no reason to get defensive here. The beauty of these forums is the differing opinions that people often share respectfully.

If you don’t care that it’s made in China, then why care at all? You could infer that it’s produced in some country where Labour is cheap in order to keep costs low; it’s not labeled create in the US or UK, so if
You’re ok with China, then what’s the difference if it’s made somewhere else?

Seems like a moot point to me, but I’m sure your question will be answered.

I’d be more interested in how it shaves.

What's interesting to me in reading the comments on the ATG forum are all the assumptions made about how it shaves based upon its lack of bottom support. While I generally share this bias I know there are exceptions, a few among my favorite razors (Hello Wardonia), so I go into this with an open mind and rather high expectations given reviews to date.

FWIW it also looks like Steve is working on another razor to appeal to those who prefer a razor with that bottom support.

Oh boy. Someone is on Full Boil here and I’m afraid we might witness a wet shavers belief in the right to know and full disclosure royal meltdown. Be forewarned Gentleman, the obtuse nature and apparent training in ignorance of this individual is extremely and clearly of elite status.

In other words, don’t waste your time with your gentlemanly constraints and in using logic and common sense to fight someone who is clearly of superior training in the art of stupidity & ignorance.

Ladies ladies!! no need to get aerated I just never noticed all the tagging and so on - anyway here goes - I am an English native born and bread - I just happen to now live in Hong Kong but I am British. I have been here almost 19 years now!! I am married to a local gal and have two kids who were born here. My wife is Chinese I am English - simple eh?

I design the razors, brushes and so on myself, even the Rubberset 400 clone that I make called T-400, is an adaptation of a design by Tom White with my own changes and bits added on - hence the English/British design tag - it happens to be true... I subcontract the manufacturing out to one of three machine shops that I use - it took me two years to whip them into shape AFTER I found them  - much trial and error and 8 months with this razor alone and where they get it made is there affair although they do tell me they are made in Hong Kong. Personally, I am super happy with the product I get back from them  - and believe me I rejected many many rounds of prototypes not just on the razors but the brushes too. Maybe they subcontract them to Japanese unicorns who make them secretly in a badger powered hotel? I don't think a Made in Hong Kong tag adds anything to the product - hence it is not stamped as such. I fully understand why some might want to have Made in USA or Made in UK stamped on a product - for me it just does not matter - it is a razor not a Rolls Royce or a Chevrolet. The razor speaks for itself.

BTW, no I am not going to give out the names and addresses of my machine shops and contacts. I would dearly love to have my own lathe and milling machine BUT I live in a typical Hong Kong apartment and it is too small, on the 12th floor and the neighbours would bitch at the noise...

The razor is machined, fully machined with a hand polished mirror finish on the outer surfaces and a light machined finish on the "unseen'" parts. The material is 316L stainless Steel. No it is no copied off an R89, V3A or anything else. It is Outlaw - that's it.

Anyway - if you want to read some reviews then look at my webpage. The Executive shaving Outlaw is the SAME razor but with Executive Shaving branding - they also have great reviews - This razor is being compared to ATT, Wolfman and others - I am flattered. Totally blown away by it all.

IF you would like to try one then of course I won't object to you buying one from me... BUT there is a pass-around that started today with me mailing out two razors to USA accompanied by two brushes too - both called Outlaw!!

Not everyone will like Outlaw. I get it that everyone has personal tastes - what I would like is honest feedback so that I can improve. Outlaw is medium aggressive, approx. 0.71mm blade gap, 30.5º blade angle, a fanny hair (that's a beaver hair for my USA cousins) positive blade exposure. Super efficient and not kamikazi banshee level dangerous. Weighs in at about 115g and to my eyes is a beauty!!

Cheers. Much looking forward to razor's arrival.
