Alpha Shaving
For completeness - descriptions:-

Outlaw v2 Brush

This V2 Outlaw benefits from the awesome G4 synthetic knot. The matte black finish handle looks ever so sleek and modern. It's made by the Alpha Brush & Shaving Company to very tight engineering tolerances.

This premium quality shaving brush is 100% animal friendly, no badger had to die for its coat. New generation shaving brushes perform to the same standard as the top-quality badger hair brushes, but without any of the drawbacks. They don’t smell, they don’t fan out, they dry quicker, and they don’t shed any hairs. They are stiff enough to lather soaps and creams with ease, but pillow-soft on the face.

Inspired by the Rubberset 400, and the Merit 99-x series, this brush is shorter, better in terms of its proportions, excellent handling and beautifully balanced in the hand. This brush, simply put, is class, but with big attitude!

The Outlaw has a super ergonomic handle designed to be palm held, not held with the fingertips. The belly sits nicely in your hand and your fingers are drawn automatically to The Outlaws neck. This brush feels superb in the hand and it's easy to grip thanks to the seven, beautifully engineered, deep flutes.
Outlaw is a unique brush, totally designed in house at Alpha. The material is 6063 architectural grade aluminium and it is carefully anodised to stop corrosion over time. The handle is turned on a CNC controlled lathe. Colour-anodising is not a plating, it cannot peel off. Composed entirely of aluminium oxide it is fully integrated with the aluminium substrate. The colour will not fade over the years and the finish delivers exceptional abrasion resistance.

Outlaw DE

This is the Super Grip Handle edition which features our new Super Grip handle - designed for optimum control and balance during shaving.

The head is suitable for most skin and beard types with a 0.71mm blade gap and neutral exposure.

However, The Outlaw is a close shaving razor, it will shave you very close and smooth in only one or two passes, fewer passes means less post-shave irritation.
The head is wider than most safety razors, the head fully covers the blade, this is a great safety feature. The head is also very low-profile which makes shaving under the nose easier.
  • The head was machine-tooled from two solid blocks of stainless steel (+ or - 0.002 inches / 0.05mm) then the outer surfaces were hand polished to a mirror finish.
  • The handle is lightly knurled so it feels comfortable in the hand yet it delivers a superb, reassuringly firm grip when wet.

I am in on this one. I live in Washington state. I always admired the Alpha brushes and now want to try the razor.

Their brushes are awesome. I was super excited when Bullgoose started carrying them in the US. I now own two of them and love both.

[Image: PUYiktP.jpg][Image: YQOYYhr.jpg]I preordered the Outlaw razor the first minute it opened up and it just arrived today. The razor looks amazing. I was a little shocked at how it was packed for the international journey though and I am glad it didn’t arrive damaged.
It came in a small plastic envelope with a single layer of bubble wrap (razor was inside the case).

Packaging during shipping of the razor wasn’t the greatest but the razor arrived undamaged and shaves beautifully! The shave was super smooth and very efficient. I felt the blade during the shave but never felt it was going to bite me. This razor may also have the loudest audible feedback of any razor I have used.

The polished finish is perfect and the handle provides plenty of grip. I got it on the pre-order for $129 delivered (I think) but Bullgoose has them for $149.99 without the long overseas wait.

Can you please tell me where the razor is made? There are no info on their site or any retailer, but it's important to me.

Also, where the company is based in? They say the design is English, no matter what that means, but they're based in the US? Prices on their site are in USD. I'm confused.

And another question. Is the finish clean or there are small light scratches here and there? I've watched a few videos and photos and all razors seem to have these. Am I missing something?

If these light scratches are done from me and the regular use, I'm fine with it, but if the razor is new, I expect not to have any, because I buy it new, not used.

I could use some help here, because I'm really thinking of purchasing the razor...

Thanks a lot.

So, if I get it right, the design is English(meaning the designer is English or what?), the company is based in China, the prices in USD, and the products are also made in China? Is the owner a Chinese citizen?

You killed me man.

I was fearing of this because if a product is made in the US or in EU, they say it clearly. Now I can't find this info.

About the finish anyone? How clean is the polishing? From what I've seen it's not the cleanest. Please prove me wrong at least on that.

He has a pass-around here, you can join it, and check the quality.
