If you want a 3D printed razor head (double edge) I highly recommend Shapeways. One of the largest printers in the world. This produce thousands of items every day.
This particular head is called the "Bullhorn" because it was made to be very loud when shaving and not because there is something wrong with it. According to the designer and Michael Freedburg it is aggressive. You need to provide the handle and a M5 x .08 screw (the screw is sold at Home Depot)
It is recommended to buy the black head as it is more durable. I have no connection to Shapeway (wish I did).  The total price is under $30 with expedited shipping. Be aware Shapeway has to make the head. I have bought several heads from them and they are reliable.

Let me introduce myself. My name is Roger Quintero, I go by the name of rogerquin on Thingiverse. I recently decided to upload some of my designs, and the adjustable SE is one of my oldest designs and still one of my favorites.

Welcome aboard. There just isn't much available in the modern realm for SE and 3D printing is what will help with that. Gem style blades you only have one razor in current production by Blackland Razors and nothing against them but the price point is prohibitive to many and mass acceptance in a market. The PAA Starling might still be in production since it is listed on their website but it is never in stock. 3D printed designs fill that niche right now for people who want a modern razor but don't want to pay a lot for one to try let alone use on a regular basis.

I agree with you regarding limited options. The starling is an interesting razor but not for me. It always felt kind of harsh against my skin... maybe being made of aluminum?? I truly wanted to like it. I definitely want to find a local 3D print shop to give these guys a go.

You can also try an online 3D printer see what they quote you on price like these guys.

Fair. The problem is that there is basically no market for GEM razors at really any price point. So it's hard to justify the development of an inexpensive version, especially one that has a center-mounted and properly balanced head like the Sabre. I have designs for them, but they've been shelved because nobody buys GEM razors.

3D prints are perfect for this. You get to satisfy your curiosity without really committing or spending big money. I was just recommending Roger's designs to someone on B&B yesterday. Good stuff. Definitely the route I'd go down if I were GEM-curious.

This is my new 3d printed Gem style SE razor design. I took a different approach with this one. By making use of layer strength orientation, the flat threaded post seems to hold up very well and keeps the blade very secure. I included 3 plates with different levels of aggression. The files are available for download on Thingiverse.

I personally like using this site for prints: https://craftcloud3d.com/

I've had them do several interior car parts for me where some level of texture and precision is necessary, based on the design files provided that were replicating OEM parts that worked better. sls nylon pa12 & mjf nylon pa12 fared the best of all of the prints I tried....pla, petg & abs, not so much.

Thanks! It definitely provides an awesome shave. Plate #3 is a bit too aggressive. Yes, all my designs I print myself. Printing and testing and printing again is really the only way to get the results I want just right. I printed my last design in transparent green resin, and I was able to print the cap and thread-post as one solid piece. This gives the cap a cleaner look. If it holds up well after some use, I'll upload the files for SLA printing.

that print looks pretty good! you ought to start selling them for those of us who can't be bothered with getting them printed by a 3rd party and then trying to fit them together. Tongue
