Based on what we already know about the MC series:

Receives personal attention from Murat, whatever that means.
And the adjustment ring is gold plated.
As for QC, the bottom plug fell out for many people (who bought the 2021 MC)

Materials are same, design and geometry is the same...shave offered is the same.

But the premium it commands is over $200....is this justified, is what I am wondering.

Love the razor...but since I bought it, Im allowed to comment on it...them's the rules now.

I could be terribly wrong but...I am thinking the 2020 was $700 no stand. The 2021 and 2022 Sailors are/were $500, no stand. The 2021 and 2022 MCs are/were $700 with stand. The 2019 was $450 at Bullgoose. The $200 difference essentially the inclusion of the stand, no? What am I missing?

Many fell out?

If you have a 20, 21, or 22 in any version, they shave basically the same. No need in having the others unless the variations in handle length appeal to you or....you want what is essentially a $200 stand. Best I can tell anyway, but I must be missing the perceived price increase.

I thought I saw at least 4-5 guys say theirs did, although I dd not keep track.
Mine gave me the impression it was moving inside, so I prised it out and stuck
it back with Loctite....rock solid ever since.
Nothing but praise for the razor....best value ever... since it incorporates the entire
wolfman range within it with very comparable performance and smoothness.
Im a fan.

They look the same except for the gold ring.  Both are depicted with a stand.  Not sure where the 200 premium is.  Maybe gold plated ring is the only advantage?

looks like I got in at the right time.

Seems nothing is immune from price increases lately but I am clueless about why there is such a big difference between the 2 models.  That is about $211 US.

I checked and can confirm the 2021 Sailor prices. Standard 2021 Sailor was $490 and Master Collection was $690. Differences were the stand, longer / slimmer handle, gold-plated ring, Master Collection insert in bottom of handle. Am not sure what kind of box the 2021 standard model came in. I do agree they are fundamentally the same razor except for the massive stand and a couple of bits of cosmetic bling.

My personal view in 2021 was that it was a shame to lose the gold ring that the 2020 model had - it looked really striking - so it was a very nice thing that the Master Collection brought it back. But now the 2022 standard model has a brass ring, which looks great too, so things seem a bit different this time.

The prices are the same for 2022, on both variants - $490 and $690. The standard 2022 model is a superb razor for $490, but not a necessary purchase if you already had the 2021 standard model.

I still think we can’t tell what the 2022 Master Collection will offer based on just one photo, so I am chilling about it for now. I would guess the comparisons for 2021 are a reasonable starting point to set expectations. Murat’s comment re-posted in here a while back said the Master Collection will have “improved mechanics and a new surface treatment”.

The MC razor (incl of stand) prices are different when I compare what I paid.

I paid 570 Euros for the 2021 MC....and now its 630 Euro for the 2022 MC.

60 euros for better mechanics etc sounds ok.

By the way - and nothing to do with value - but I am now noticing that the top cap is concave on the photos.

Yep....sure appears to be. Good eye.

You are right about the polished rounds too. After I took delivery of my 2020, I asked him to make me a polished top cap for it. It wound up shipping with the same look. The flat is ziratsu polished and the rounds are mirrored. Not exactly what I expected, but what I got. Pretty sure he told me mirror polishing the top would remove the logo. Which I totally believe.

Like you, I will sit back and wait for more specs on the 22 MC. Hopefully they start shipping next month.

Unless the conversion is now drastically different that when you ordered...you got a special price at 570. MSRP was $690.
