I have maybe 40 razors. The only razors I've used since December have been the Sailor and the Tiaga Ti. Right now I feel like that trend might continue for the foreseeable future. The heft of the Sailor doesn't bother me, I think it's part of what makes it shave so well.

I kinda feel like a titanium version should also be stripped back and look like a lightweight - maybe with the same mechanics but a quite different cosmetic design - maybe a skeleton version.

I talk to Murat off and on and he has some ideas for that particular Sailor.  May be a combination of some titanium parts and stainless parts.  We’ll see but I have been surprised by how much I am liking my titanium Taiga.  I had to get used to it at first because I was used to my first gen Taiga and the weight difference is huge!

Care should be taken when making razors, or anything for that matter, using different metals that will be in contact particularly if they’re to be used in a wet environment. Galvanic corrosion can happen.

I’ve heard that feedback from quite a few people around the lower end of the range on the Muramasa.  Curious as to whether they will make changes or offer different base plate and top cap options for additional adjustability.

I found some researches show no galvanic corrosion between Ti and SS: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/ar...3003005801

This is other one: https://www.worldstainless.org/Files/iss...her_EN.pdf

Also he probably will make Ti handle and SS head..

That would be an insanely head heavy razor. That will likely be the first one I pass on if that happens.

My thoughts as well.  I suppose anything is always possible but that sure sounds top heavy to me!

Yeah man, I don’t know if that would work for me either. Wish it was a titanium head and a stainless handle.

He is always checking weight center. I am sure it is not gonna out of balance. He might make thinner head or longer handle.

I am thinking he will make Ti handle first, since it is easier than Ti head.
I guess he probably doesn't have Ti experience, but customers are asking for Ti release.

Artisans who have machine shop are mostly postponing Ti release like Yates, Karve and Charcoal Goods..

For sure. The only hope for decent balance is if he reverts to 2020 geometry with the fatter, longer handle.

It looks like stainless steel is a good choice. Here are pictures of why I even thought about that. First from the website, second is a member’s practical experience. Different metals have different galvanic potential so it’s got to be factored in at the design stage.
