2021/22 Rocnel Sailor Adjustable

I exchanged emails with Murat yesterday and will order the MC Sailor. The WU site would not let me finish transaction and have to go to a WU to send the payment. I was torn on getting the 22. I inquired about the brass ring getting patina and they said that could occur. It was then sort of hard to justify sending 500 when I have the 21 version where this won’t happen. Anyone have issues with their brass ring and patina?

I would much prefer the brass ring to the gold plated one I have. When my plating wears it will be a huge hassle to replate. When brass patinas you take toothpaste and bring it back to life in 15 seconds.

Wow, that’s good to know. I’ve never heard that, although admittedly I haven’t done much research to see how to get rid of it. So toothpaste will easily restore it to like new? If so I may have to reconsider one. Does anyone know if he is now taking orders for the MC 22 version?

I have not had the chance to get to WU to Murat for the MC. Thinking to order the non MC and a stand. I can re-purpose the difference to another hobby.

Have the MC and the 2022.  I have noticed zero tarnishing or patina in the brass version, in service now a little over a month (admittedly short, but again, zero change).  One of these is gold, one brass.  See the difference?

I am unable to see the difference.

I'm still waiting on my 2021 RSMC. It has not been shipped yet.

I could have a few days ago ordered the 2022 and had it in hand by now.

I use the WU app on my iPad and it’s very quick and easy. Some others have said the transaction fees are high for them, and they seem to vary a lot. Where I am the fee is low using the app.

I was told that the first transaction needs to be in person then the app should work.

Actually, I just plopped them down and took a picture, and I'm not really sure which is which!  I think the gold one may be on the right.  But not quite sure....  I do recommend something like Renaissance Wax for either (or actually any shaving implements or accessories, metal, plastic or otherwise), and use it regularly.  Gold itself (less than pure) can actually tarnish - 24k gold must be at least 99.9% gold to be called "24k," but is not elemental gold, and that 0.1% of "other" over time can cause it to darken slightly. But much less than any other gold alloy, and over a much longer period.  And gold in general in any combination of metals is less subject to change (other than physical damage) than almost any other metal alloy.  More concerned about the 24k finish wearing and showing the underlying substrate more than actually discoloring, and still don't know why Murat chose 24k versus 10k or even 14 or 18k for example, a much tougher finish.  C'est la vie, and wear or battle scars adds to the uniqueness and character of a tool actually used, and is not a bad look IMO.
