In response to my inquiry yesterday I've been notified my RSMC should be shipped this week.

I hope I like it.

I'm a bit worried it won't be mild enough for my skin.

Happy shaves,

Jim

Murat posted on Instagram that pre-orders are now open for the 2022 Sailor Master Collection. Delivery expected April or May.

Have any of you been in contact with Murat recently and have you heard anything about the 2022 MC? Tweaks, trim details, etc.?

Thanks for the heads up. I totally missed the IG post, somehow.

I asked him about differences...here is his reply.[Image: 5ac826d049660c7b9d8c4c766f49cc32.jpg]

I hope you're right, James.

Recently I've been favoring my milder razors.

Happy shaves,

Jim

I read your post about the Tatara. I only used that razor once, on 5. Even opened up it just didn't cut close enough for me. But as you postulated, I am one of those that shaves every 3 or 4 days....if that. All that said, I still thing the Sailor will suit you even if you only use the 1st 50% of the dial.

For what it’s worth, Jim, I find my Sailor gives me notably irritation-free shaves - more so than all but my mildest shavers. It is very efficient and there is blade feel when you open it up, but applying no pressure at all it cuts extremely well and always leaves my skin feeling good. I use setting 4 for the first pass, then 3, then 2 for the final pass. I think if you are nervous about it you could start with settings 2 and 1 and it will still be surprisingly efficient. The main thing is to not apply pressure and go lightly.

Will be interested to hear your impressions. First time I used it I tried setting 4 for the whole shave and perhaps I was a bit heavy-handed too, not adjusting to the weight of the razor, so I got some irritation. But after that I got it dialled-in and now even when my lather isn’t ideal I still get away with a really comfortable shave.

After so many years of passion I contacted Mr. Murat for the pre-order.
I’m Italian and my English is not very good
So not having understood the difference between the standard version and the MC I opted for the standard version + razor stand
I hope I did well.
it would be my first Rocnel Sailor

The ' 21MC came with a stand and was approx $700.  The standard '21 and '22 did not and both were approx $500.

If you pre-ordered and got a stand, I am guessing you guessing you got the '22 MC.  The MC's were limited to 50 pieces while there are approx 200 standard '22s.

I would suggest getting the '22 MC for the to be determined updates and the limited production.

These razors seem to get better with every update, so I am excited to see what was changed.
