Still in search of a stand, but of course a number of hanging stands would likely work.  The head orientation is the same as the 2021 MC and previous models as discussed, and looks like identical external dimensions as the MC 2021, same Roman numerals for adjustment, and the laser engraving is just a hair lighter.  The brass ring looks remarkably like the gold plate on the MC, but time will tell on wear/tarnish.

Gorgeous!

Do you know if it weighs more than the MC?

Didn't weigh (Santa wrapped it already!), but the adjustment post/dial looks like the same dimensions and appears to be drilled the same.  Adjusting for the weight of the medallion (6.664g Big Grin) on the MC, with the slightly greater thickness of the walls on the 2022 by comparison, I'd guess it's within a hair of the weight of the MC (mine is 142.5g), a heft I've actually come to like.

First shave today with my 2022 Sailor. The top cap was indeed installed incorrectly when shipped. The "Rocnel" and "Sailor" are still supposed to face opposite ways. The adjustment dial seems to be aligned dead on the nose, thank goodness!

I gave it a 3 pass shave on level 2 and it was nice. Definitely a bit more blade feel than my Paradigm 17-4, but pretty efficient. It is quite hefty, which will take some getting used to. It isn't uncomfortably heavy, it just kind of impedes my ability to get a close shave off the bat. I'm sure after a week or two I'll have it dialed in so I can work some areas. Currently, it is unforgiving if I'm angling it slightly too much or pressing a bit due to the weight doing a lot of the work and me not being used to it.

No issues navigating under the nose with the head. It really is a great razor, I'm hopeful that after some time with it my Paradigm 17-4 will be dethroned!

I've found that the blade matters more in the Rocnel too.  I use a Feather exclusively in my Titanium Taiga - and I wouldn't think of using one in the Rocnel.  With a Personna or an Astra however, it's like a hockey stick on ice (without giving me a Zamboni facial)! Big Grin

My guess is 139.9 grams for the 2022.

That's right, don't be afraid to dial up or dial down to suit your face, it is an adjustable after all.

I feel with an Astra SP, it is one of the safest and smoothest combos out there.

Yes it is.  Perfect fit for the 2020, not sure about the other models though. Check out Marley Machine Works on Etsy, he makes custom stands.

Thanks!  Sent a message to Scott at MMW with photos of the OEM stand and measurements to see if he could fabricate one - here's hoping!

***Scott says can do - woo-hoo!  Tongue
