Had a beastly 5 day growth waiting when this puppy arrived.
Chucked in a used Platinum and went to work.
WTG and ATG on 7....plus a XTG pass on the neck with 3.
Fantastic shave ... no nicks, no angle uncertainty, nothing. My fingers
do not meet even the slightest resistance when I rub my face in any direction.
The 2021 RSMC is a very well behaved razor.
Historically, I've not fared well with heavy razors, but this one produces good results effortlessly.
I can say that even on 7 the blade feel was rather muted...strange but very appealing.
Needless to say, this razor requires a very light touch or you'll suffer some irritation
and redness.
The springs used inside are super smooth and the settings dial operates like butter.
That's a plus over the Taiga for me. Finish didn't really inspire any thoughts, was within expectations.
Maybe it's my inexperience with heavy razors but I found myself gripping this one very firmly,
I also kept wiping it dry, along with my hands, because I was afraid it may slip out.
The knurling on this should be strengthened IMO. If this thing slips mid-shave, it will probably, crack
your wash basin, get bent or hurt your toe if it lands on it. No question at all.
All said and done...a whole lot of razors for the money. Imagine the entire spectrum of wolfman gaps
in one implement. Along with a unique smoothness that is hard to beat. If anything I think JD
needs to be lowering his prices, not raising them because a RSMC 2021 actually delivers more value.
And need I even say this: this razor in Ti would be a staggering achievement.
One suggestion to improve the product: include an instruction manual. Tell us what that silver button
is for.....is there a desired way to align the top cap while assembling the razor? Does the razor need servicing
during its lifespan? What about the springs? Is there a lifetime warranty ? And so on...
