I got its twins!  Big Grin

what do you think of its scent?

Very nice. Was unsure at first with the soap but a kept the lid off and it mellowed. I took a dab of splash and placed it on my wrist and that's where it shines! Im terrible at describing but its a very nice, kind of floral scent. Driving me nuts because its a familiar scent and I can't quite put my finger on it. Definitely a home run. Can't wait for my morning shave!

Sorry my description is not better. Been on the road for 4 hours so my brain is blah.

Just finished a shave and while I wasn't a huge fan of the puck scent, once it opened up it was great. The AS was on another level though. My amateur nose likens it to a cross between Seville and trismegistus, both have a bit of citrus but one is bright, the other dark.

At the end of the day I'm really glad I got the set. Nicely done mods and most of all Scott.

Texas?! How does it go from Georgia to Texas on its way to Philly?

Regarding the soap and aftershave, I agree with wildcatsfan10. Do not judge the scent off the puck. It smells like Trix cereal to me. Once lathered, it's predominantly lemon with the sandalwood, amber and lavender subtly in the background. The aftershave does take the scent to another level still with the citrus on top, but definitely more complex and sophisticated. A very nice addition to the den and a winner for me!

First thought that came to mind when I opened the tub of soap was a sweeter version of Cologne Russe and I really like Cologne Russe. Love the aroma on this one and out of the six L&L soaps I have tried so far I like this one the best. The aftershave was strong on menthol but after 20 minutes the menthol is gone and the aroma comes through. Personally I would have preferred the aftershave without menthol in this offering which is different for me as I like the menthol versions of all the other L&L offerings I have.

I'm not much of a menthol fan.. I, again, read the soap ingredients thinking everything (i.e. the aftershave) was non-mentholated and was wrong. Well, my mistake. The (aftershave) menthol is a child punch in the face, perhaps a hearty child punch...like Chris Farley. I really do like the scent of the soap and the dry down scent of the aftershave. Just not happy that I glossed over the menthol part...again. In any case, thank you DFS and L&L for bringing us a one of a kind soap&splash Smile

I picked up my L&L Grooming DFS LE 2017 set from the Post Office yesterday(along with a tub of "Original.")  No, I couldn't wait and took a sniff of the soap in my car! I like what I smell! I hurried home, anticipating a shower and then a shave with my new goodies! Well, unfortunately, my wife wasn't feeling well and asked that I not use any "smelly stuff" for my shave. Sad Oh well, maybe this morning I will get a chance to try out the new LE!

A big thank you to Scott and the team at DFS for all the effort that went into this project. Like Red Tipped Cobra I appreciate the time and energy that was devoted to this.

I was lucky enough to talk with Matsilainen when this was being developed, and it was clear to me how dedicated the DFS team was to this project. Kudos!

No surprise, the performance on the soap is exceptional.

I enjoyed the scent-could tell it was there during the shave, but not overwhelming. I got bright citrus notes and a sophisticated freshness. I'm usually not a fan of mentholated AS, and the AS is very 'menthol-forward'. But that wore off in no time, and it actually felt quite refreshing.

I turned to my resident in-house scent expert (SWMBO) for a cologne to wear with it, and without a word, she picked up the bottle of Acqua di Parma Colonia, and it worked very nicely.
