The synthetics are average. Boar is considered to be among the best available, especially if you value a nice handle. As for badger brushes, I think you'll be hard-pressed to find something better than their Manchurian for the price. I have a number of brushes that cost 4 to 5 times what a Zenith manchu does but the Zeniths will always have their place in my rotation. They have a natural feel without any gelling. All five that I own have a bit of scrub but not a hint of scritch. The flow-through is excellent, making them my first choice when face lathering with a fussy soap.
I have had four Zenith brushes, a Manchurian and three boars, all bought in 2018. The Manchurian is excellent. Two of the boars were fine, but the third, while the cheapest, was also a bad shedder.
