YouTuber bashing on other forums, why?

On a certain other forum I've noticed bunch of people bash youtubers as being terrible shavers and s bad thing for the community. Such as saying tse mashes his brushes, which I've never seen him do. I see him splay his brushes like I do.
I've only seen one YouTube person really mash their brush. Other things they say is they don't load enoug, make poor lather, use poor blade angle, and end Shave with tons of cuts and call it good.

Are these shave elitist?
Isn't shaving a person to person thing anyways, no one technique for all. Or are we just missing out.

Anyways just bothers me. I got into shaving thanks to youtubers, I still actively watch their videos. I've learned about many brushes and soaps from them.
I get good shaves the way I shave but I bet if I taped it they'd say I'm doing everything wrong 0.o
I think youtubers do more for the community then forums. It's more mainstream and so more likely to be seen by non wet shavers.

I see this from time to time. What I've rarely, if ever, seen is the person bashing producing a better video, post, article etc.

If they are a self proclaimed expert then setup the camera and share some knowledge. Otherwise pipe down

Kidding aside, I have a level of appreciation for anybody dedicating the time and effort in an attempt to contribute. Whether I agree with them personally is another thing altogether.

I also have found recently that many of the information outlets, whether vid or written, have become more tabloids of the shaving world. Not a huge fan of this editorial either personally.

If you live long enough, you will find someone who complains about everything. Even if something is about a perfect as possible, someone won't like it.

Its a life lesson thing.

I am this close to quoting Teddy Roosevelt - on a shaving forum. But resist, I must.

I think most YouTube shaving celebrities are not worth watching, simply because they tend to give bad advice and they LOVE everything they review.

I thought the video of the guy shaving on the beach was silly, to say the least.

I also think a few, TSE coming to mind, spend so much time complaining about extraneous nonsense that I'm tempted to throw my monitor out the window after listening to it for more than two minutes. I like my monitor, so I stopped watching...

I'd take a forum over a wettuber any day of the week.

I enjoy YouTube reviews, I think many of them have their own technique and who am I to judge what works best for them. I have only seen one reviewer who may mash his brush a bit too much but it's his brush. I'm weird, I baby my stuff too much so it may very well be okay to do that.

I think TSE has good technique, I envy that he can shave against the grain so easily. I do get tired of some of the talks and the occasional showcasing of some unobtaniums. I personally don't like hyping up unobtaniums, it will just open the way for newbies to be hyped up and may pay for an item more than it's worth. I should know, I've been there. Lol.
That's just me though, and he can certainly enjoy whatever razor he wants to use. I just find it more useful to talk about razors that are easily available for everyone.

I haven't seen YouTube bashing threads on other forums though, for the most part I don't see much discussion about it.

I do enjoy Rud's, Bald and Beardless, Nick Shaves, Busta, Clean Shaver, Leonard Ybarra among many others. Our very own BadDad has his videos. I enjoy their input about the soaps they are using even if sometimes their review of a razor or soap isn't the same with my experience, I certainly welcome the added insight, like in our forums. I always go back to my stuff, hence I appreciate every insight.

On that note, I do get tired of shaving videos if I feel like the reviewer is biased or too buddy buddy with the creator of whatever stuff he is using. I feel that the review would be pointless for me to watch cause at the back of my mind I will be wondering if the review was compromised.

Hmm, I find them just weird. I get Mantic helping newbies who have no clue but constantly the "reviews", or are they 15 minutes of fame?

Don't watch them don't care.

No matter who you are or what you do, someone will hate you for it...

I got tired of the nonsense...emails bashing techniques from people that remain hidden and comments that cross every line of decency...I gave it up.

I may still make a bid or two in the future but it loses appeal quickly. Kudos to anyone sticking it out and continuing on...

Well for what it's worth BadDad I liked the vids you did, Chris. But you're definitely right, anonymity breeds all sorts of BS on the regular.

I enjoy watching shaving vids from time to time. I've picked up some little things here and there that have improved my techniques, or turned me onto a product I didn't know about. I wouldn't say that they have done more for me than the forums have though, I just prefer the back and forth of the forum format. For the most part, people tend to behave themselves more, or at least curb their responses to a greater extent, when it's on a forum in my experience.
