Andrew, that is exactly what my OneBlade looked like. That was why I was getting such inefficient results with it and the GEM blades, unfortunately, and why I returned it.

To be fair, I was expecting it to be pretty bad given how bad the feather was smiling.

IDK, SharpSpine seems to get good results with the smiling GEM. His probably doesn't have that extreme of a smile, but it may not make that much of a difference...

SharpSpine's GEM smile is very subtle compared to mine...

my OneBlade was dropped off at FedEx on Tuesday night to head back for a replacement. I'll let everyone know when I get the replacement!

Good luck, Andrew!

I hope the replacement OneBlade razor is what the first one should have been. It's a shame that a purchase that you seemed to be looking so forward to has to end up being such a negative experience. Hopefully, the replacement will make it worth the wait and aggravation!

Wow, that is pretty severe. Hopefully the next batch will be perfect for you.

I hope so too! it's a beautiful razor!

the thing that annoys me though is that they seemed to know that these razors were defective, even telling someone on another forum who reported the blade smile to them that it was fine and part of the design, yet they continued to sell them, and they even put them on sale! I'm not sure if they were hoping to get rid of the rest of their defective razors or what...my guess is that they were hoping to move them all and not have people notice that they had issues.

oh, and their customer service has been pretty bad. I've had way better customer support from merchants that sell $15 soaps than a company that sells $300+ razors..something seems off there!

yeah, it's pretty bad! I thought about shaving with the GEM before I put the blade in, then I saw how bad the smile was and just passed entirely.

My current thinking on OneBlade is as follows. For people that have not been able to get a good shave any other way, the OneBlade is worth trying.

Other than that, they are persona non grata with me. I've been lucky that I'm getting good shaves with double edge razors. The OneBlade was a gift from someone that matters to me, so I'll never sell it.
