I hate Monopolies.

What a turn off.

OneBlade, you know where you have them

I posted the following answer to a question about which blades work with the Oneblade on Amazon:

Personna GEM PTFE coated blades work very well for me and many others. They come with a spine, so you use pliers to squeeze the corner of the spine and it will come easily. I like the Gems as they are well priced and last a long time - up to a month. From a shaving perspective I prefer the GEMS as well as I nick myself more with the Feathers. Also, the Feathers have a tremendous amount of glue on the blades which I really don't like.

The Feathers do provide a slightly smoother shave for me. Also, Feather blades are probably the sharpest razor blades on the market. That is great for some men and not as good for others. In my case, I wind up with more nicks from the Feathers because they are so sharp.
I will also say that I know folks who like the Feather blades better. It might be worth trying both to see which you like best. see less

I have been using the GEM blades exclusively for several months now for the simple reason that I don't have any more of the Feather blades. Lo and behold, I found an overlooked Feather this morning and quickly popped it in. Man, they really work nice. I'm going to buy a few packs from Maggards to use occasionally. I expect one more good shave with it.

For those of you fellow OneBlade users who really, really like it and are not too miffed by the blade issue or the company business practices or the marketing or the pricing, etc (not saying those aren't legitimate issues, just trying to narrow the focus of the responses).: has there been anything you have tried that works as well as the OneBlade, such as the General? Anything that has really impressed you?

I found the ATT SE1 gave me a much better and smoother shave.

Nope. I'm impatiently awaiting another company to produce a GEM style razor. Colonial & Charcoal Goods are the two that I'm watching the closest.

Brian, have you tried any razors that use the Feather Artist Club blades? I am curious about how they perform. Sorry to hijack your thread, but the perspective of a OneBlade user is more valuable than others to me.

Tom:

i have a oneblade and an asylum Rx. i use de-spined and clipped gem stainless ptfe coated blades in the oneblade and primarily feather pro guards in the rx. the rx is very capable of getting a great shave; but the oneblade is a lot easier to use. does anyone know if there is a razor that uses artist blades but has a pivoting head?

I think the oneblade might be the only one.
