If had to pick just one soap to use for the rest of my days on this planet it would be Barrister and Mann’s Seville.

Proraso red, the old formula.

Boar brushes, brass razors, and hard pucks ARE traditional wet shaving. Everything else is modern day fluff for the girly men.

It's like the blues, the best stuff comes from dead guys.

I love the Proraso Red. Awesome smell.

I have a tube of Red in the old and a tube of Blue in the new Super formula. Maybe it's some ingredient in the blue, but I get a smoother shave from the old Red.

Wow, that's a tough question at the moment I'd have to say Grooming Dept Amari as I love the scent and the performance is right up there with the best. Some others that I have really enjoyed over the years would be:

Noble Otter Lonestar
Nuavia Rossa
APR Fenchurch
Desmonds Barrow Joie de Vetiver
Eleven Bosco
Shannons Woodland Frost
SV Flying Mango
The Club Baccara

I honestly could go on and on.....

Favourite soap is much harder. It's a tossup between Tabac, MWF, and any of the RazoRock "SuperTallow" base.
Why do I read these topics?!?! Now I need to check out Fendrihans. No rest for a wary wallet.
Fortunately, they have a sampler kit of their 6 creams in that line. They are small (5 g each), but it's worth it. I suspect that they are made by the same folks that make TOBS, because I found the Sandalwood version to be indistinguishable from TOBS Sandalwood.
Well I received my sample pack last night and to my surprise, so far I think the Bay Rum is the stand out scent to my nose. It's very much not a bayrum scent, but it's nice smelling. Of course, they don't have it in stock... Grr. Lol.

I emailed them for potential availability. Hopefully soon enough. Luckily, I have 2 or 3 shaves in the sample, so I have time.

Me as well regarding ethos not blowing me away but to be fair I’m past the magic potion soap base hype , cella is my daily and it shaves great , just like every other soap out there , difference is I can get a kilo for $35 and the other are $35 for 4 oz lol.

Cella is a nice performer, wish I could get past the scent, that Marzipan scent just isn't for me. Only Almond soap I've been able to keep is Dr. Harris

As others have said, this is hard.   But if I, sadly, was limited to a single soap, it would be DR Harris Arlington.  Not necessarily the very finest soap being made as soap qua soap, but for all around purposes, including a scent that my wife likes, it's my number one and every shave I have with it is excellent.  I have three other contenders:  Tallow + Steel Indian Bay; Ariana & Evans Vacanza Romana; and Grooming Department Angel.  That's not to say that I don't love a bunch of others -- I've about 20 soaps in my rotation -- but those are my single favorites.  As for brands, it would be those I've mentioned as well as Ethos.  What is driving my choices are the scents because, after all, each of these brands has other soaps using the same bases, and which scents anyone will like is incredibly subjective and will differ.

I would love a cologne fragrance inspired scent from them!
