They posted another video in the Updates section of their working prototype: it laboriously cuts through one arm hair at a time, really a long way from where it'd need to be. But they claim they've got it all figured out...

it looks like it'll be a super slow process if it's as slow as shown in the video.

Can't get passed their beards on this one.

Not that I have anything against beards, but given the context of what they are kickstarting for, I'm gonna pass and say "NOPE".

Ya gotta practice what ya preach fellas.

Well, my only question is where do you get the power from to fuel the device? Do you leave a cord on it going to a counter-top power supply, do you use rechargeable technology and if you're lucky you get 10mins of shave time? Do you just keep dropping the AA's on it? Energy, light or otherwise has to come from somewhere. Since I assume the handle does not contain a small reactor and Uranium pellet, I find the current viability of the project to be very low. I am not a bearded laser genius engaged in making a product I don't use but that's my question.

Actually I have two more questions:

1. Can you set your Skarp to stun?
2. Will the manual advise against wearing a "red shirt" while using it during travel aka "away missions"

in one of their videos, I did see them show an image of a small PCB (printed circuit board) that I assume is used inside of the razor...

FAQ says it uses a AAA battery that typically lasts a month under normal use. The laser has a lifespan of 50,000 hours - so if true and you shaved for 10 minutes a day with this it would last 821 years. If this works - one razor would last as long as you live.

Would be cool, I still find myself in the doubters camp though.

I hear you. I'm waiting for someone to put this to use on their facial hair before I'd even consider trying one. Maybe I should ask them if they'd be willing to do a pass around with the forum.

I was wondering if it takes batteries, as it looks too thin or is it rechargeable. It would be expensive if its battery operated.
