Yet another Kickstarter razor: the "Single Edge," a new production injector.

The somewhat confusingly named "Single Edge" is a new production, stainless steel, adjustable injector razor (uses traditional injector blades).

It went up on Kickstarter today. The adjustability is via three interchangeable guard plates: mild, standard and aggressive.



$80 for the razor, all three plates, 20 blades and a travel pouch seems a bit too good to be true for a stainless steel razor. I asked if they'd heard about Rockwell and what process they were planning on using to make the steel parts. They said they have a process picked out, they won't say what it is but they're confident they can hit the tolerances they need to, that it's not machining, and that yes, they're well aware of the Rockwell debacle and "it's helped inform some of our decisions."

Despite some truly terrible lather in their video, I went ahead and pledged to back them. 

Not going to lie single edge razors aren't my cup of tea but I ABSLOLUTLEY LOVED THIS VIDEO "some things in life are worth doing the old way, shaving is one of them" "Right of passage fathers passed onto their sons" This video is really good stuff....

Injector blades weren't ever that great of a shave for me and I love SE razors. However, the Feather AC type blades work best followed by the standard GEM blades and then the injectors.

Still, I'm loving how there are so many new options for people to try out what I consider to be the superior shave platform. SE > DE.

I haven't looked at it at all other than your photo, to me those plates look like injection molded pieces. There a photo somewhere of the underside of the handle? Curious if there are injection port protrusions/dimples on it.

As I am a 90% injector user, this is extremely tempting. Think I'll just turn off my computer for awhile

I've been looking at it and going back and forth. I don't think I will, though. I'm very happy with my Schick (model-E) so there really is no need.

None without one of the plates installed, though, that I could find.

I love my Schick SE and it cost me $5. I get a great shave from it and I am glad to see someone is working on a modern version so I am supporting them.

I wasn't crazy about the lather in the video either, actually chuckled a little and said to myself with all the money the spent on that video you think they would have made some better lather. But maybe they were trying to imitate the lather you'd get with Williams back in the day....?? I kid I kid.

I just saw that the guy behind this said on another forum that it'll be "a combination of cast and MIM parts, with secondary machining, to maintain tight tolerances."
