Yesterday, I had my first shave with the Yates 921 Ti H OC base plate. I was using my Ti top cap and started with the Yates Ti stubby handle.
I definitely agree with Jake's video that the OC plate is the most aggressive plate out of the plate options. I had a three-day beard and after just a few strokes, I quickly changed to my Timeless Razors Ti Crown TRH8 handle (using three nylon washers to fill the plate channel) to reduce any pressure from the weight of the handle.
The Ti OC plate felt more aggressive than my SS H scalloped plate. I think the H OC plate approached EH territory (or at least reminded me of my SS EH solid bar plate). I don't think I would want to try an EH OC plate.
All in all, an extremely close shave that the smoothness lasted at least 12 hours.
The Ti OC plate made short work of three-day's growth. I will be curious to see how it handles 4+ day's growth.
