FloridaCreekIndian Thanks for the kind words! And interesting finish on that Blackland, wonder who did that Wink

shaveSymptomatic I'd love to say yes, we'll release both at the same time. But the reality is we'll probably release the H plate first as part of restocking for the holidays, then we'll work on the EH plate. The H plate is already designed and ready to go, while the EH plate still needs to be designed, programmed, etc. I'd still look for it by the end of 2020 or worst case the very beginning of 2021.

AQU Great photo, and thanks for the kind words and your observation, I appreciate it!

DeepSea Sorry you missed the first drop, I honestly didn't expect them to sell that quickly! The new cap is now our standard cap, so it will most definitely be back and be stocked indefinitely. Once I get caught up on everything else I'm going to do another run of the shorter handles as well. Most likely the beginning of 2021, as the holiday season already has me running around like a mad man!

Dave in KY Your handle and top cap went to the post office this morning Smile

Ok, I think I'm caught up, thanks all!

Had the first run with the hybrid plate and the new cap and handle. It’s been a while since I used it, but it clipped through 3 days of growth with zero issue.

I only needed two passes, one WTG with the open comb side and one ATG with the SB, to be perfectly smooth with not a hint of irritation in the neck areas.

For the new top cap, it may be slightly more efficient as I usually do 3 passes, but I want to shave more before coming to that conclusion. It was just as smooth as I remember.

The new handle? Hmm. I found it heavy and a little short, but I’ll stick with it. The longer handle of the original Yates may have converted me to enjoying handles in the 3.5” - 4” range. I did buy a Carbon R2 handle at one point to try out since the Yates head and Carbon handle both share the 10-32 threads. I’ll give that combo a shot this weekend.

Ultimately, I’m very happy to have this razor back in my den. Thanks again YatesPrecision!

Edit: this O’douds aftershave has a great scent and post shave feel. I’ve been using their pomade for years now and pick this up on a whim. Much better than many of the aftershaves I have from some soap makers.

My razor finally arrived in the UK today and took less time to arrive from WCS than I thought it would.

I tried the original M plate this evening with a Rapira Platinum Lux and had a smooth, pleasurable, mellow and issue free shave.

The razor didn’t feel as aggressive as I had feared after reading some reviews on other forums.

I really like the stonewashed finish and I enjoyed using the original handle. I tend to prefer longer handles and this was right up my street. The thinner width helps make it very nicely balanced and light in the hand. I had zero issues with grip.

The razor also lives up to to precision part of the name. It has clearly been very well made and the tolerances are spot on.

All in all, this struck me as being a very well made and thought out razor design. I can’t wait to try out the hybrid brass plate that came with it soon.

When will you have polished full razors specifically with the H plate (fully polished) in stock? Very interested if this comes out. Thanks Jake

AQU awesome review! The new handle is hefty for sure, you can just skip the gym that day Wink

ajc347 thanks for the kind words, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I look forward to your thoughts on the brass plate, that one is my favorite thus far.

AJSharp Stephen's Vector may have gotten a makeover in Southwestern PA Wink FloridaCreekIndian

Calm_Shaver We should have polished razors and polished H plates in stock prior to the end of November, or worst case, before Christmas.
