This is all good stuff, and extremely helpful for me, so thank you. GlazedBoker I did a pre-order on my original release of razors a year ago for the exact reasons you mentioned, ie gauging interest. I was also early in my business, so the capital up front helped fund the razors. However, the entire thing was a little stressful, as I had my customer's money but no product to ship because the razors hadn't been made yet. That is one of the reasons I now only list products on my site that are sitting on my inventory shelves, packaged and ready to go.

I would, however, be open to the idea of a waitlist or signup list for the Ti razors, and that may be something I seriously consider. It may also allow me to give the customer some choices on finishes. For example, when your name comes up on the list for a razor, you receive an email with finishing options. Just an idea.

Are people really into anodized titanium? The only ones I see are those purple and blue ones ... and they don't seem very masculine, no offense to anyone. Surprised there would be high uptake on those. Brushed is always nice.

When done correctly, anodized Ti can look very nice, especially if it is contrasted with stonewashed components. This is done quite a bit in the knife industry as shown by the link below. So maybe stonewashed top cap and handle with anodized baseplate?

That sounds good. Either way, I'd sign up in a heartbeat. I only mentioned the preorder idea as it has been used quite well with the other established razor makers. Even though you're relatively new as a razor maker, your product(s) has garnered very good reception within the shaving community across multiple forums. Personally, I think you've established yourself as a real player in the razor production theatre. In the end you run it as you see fit for your needs, expectations and ultimately success in this niche market. Capitol is always the toughest cog in the manufacturing process and if some of that can be procured via a preorder, buy wait list or whatever go around may be used, it's a viable option in lessening the financial load. Besides, as a whole, we're a pretty patient group of Gents.

This is ENTIRELY just my own personal opinion. Truly though, good luck either way you go and much continued success.....

GlazedBoker I really appreciate the kind words. Two years ago I had no idea this community existed, but I'm very glad I found it. I'm going to make sure we continually improve as a company, while standing by our core values, one of which being to take care of your customers. I'm going to think on the titanium razor a bit more, and how to handle orders. I do plan on the Ti razor becoming a regular product though.

Blue anodized would be awesome.

Everyone needs a red or blue anodized titanium razor.

YatesPrecision Sorry Jake I wasn't paying attention to the thread this weekend but I may be in the minority in preferring the H-plate or alternately the hybrid (I use the OC on my first pass). As far as Titanium I am up there on the list of shavers eagerly anticipating and I kinda prefer the brushed (total) Titanium as polished Ti are so difficult to pull off well so unless you can deliver an exceptionally well polished Titanium (think Paradigm, Timeless) you may want to avoid it and go brushed. The anodized never seems to "know" what it is in Titanium so I'd want to see pictures. As others have said your stonewashed is a work of art (along with the cap logo) and has grown on me as has the (longer) 4" handle. I think you are on to something potentially very big and looking more popular every day.

I also think the hybrid plate would be a my first choice, and brushed titanium works at least as well as polished.
