The blade gap is .64mm which seems so small with all the talk of 1. Plus something gap but it sure gets the job done smoothly.

I ordered one of these yesterday. It’ll be my first SS razor and am really looking forward to how it compares to my Gibbs adjustable and Gem MMCP which are my go to razors.
What put me over the edge to make the purchase was the reasonable price and that it is made in PA (my native state).

Always cool to support local artisans. I live overseas now, and one of the biggest things I miss is the artisan / crafts culture in the US. It is amazing and yet often overlooked and forgotten since the US is most typically remembered for big politics and big business.

Yes, I always try to purchase stuff made in the USA whenever that option is available. It’s encouraging to see the field of artisans growing regardless of the industry.

Wonderful 3 pass shave tonight with my Yates Precision razor on my Charcoal Goods Prism handle. MdC and Nacet blade. He is now making his top cap with standard threads and my CG handle collection fits it perfectly.

The new H plate is a nice addition to this razor and works well.

I’ve been using the Yates almost exclusively for the past month and I love it. Super smooth and hasn’t given me any irritation. The H plate is extremely smooth as well and gets me BBS with much less cleanups.

Looks like razors are sold out and presently only base plates are in stock. Hope this means they are doing well!

Curious to see if they do something with new handles. Loved the look of the heads but not so much the skinny handles.

Anyone have picture that shows gap difference between original M plate versus new H plate?

I mentioned new handles to them and I seem to recall them stating they would be buying a new machine that would allow them to turn handles.
