For some time I’ve been trying to get ahold of a copper stand for my charcoal goods copper handles. They seem to be rarer than a damn unicorn and Brian has already said that he will not be making any more of his in the near future. So I reached out to Yates Precision to see if he could make one for me. The design has been drafted but due to cost of materials, price is a factor. After talking to some people on here about it, a few others were interested in this endeavor. Jake said if we can get 10 or more orders, the cost would come down to $65 shipped CONUS for one of these bad boys. Picture is below. Can be bored out for the larger stinger/magnum handles or the smaller diameter handles. If your interested in hoping on board this group buy for a copper stand that fits your charcoal goods handle, send me a private message and I’ll add your name to the list. Thanks!

it's fine, although the title should probably be changed to what it is: yates copper stand.

I don’t see why not. Does anyone have one of those stands and some calipers to measure what the bore is with the insert pulled out? Just be aware tho that it will not be as tight a fit for the handles. I had one and sold it because there was some wiggle room for the handle. Not much, but enough to annoy my OCDness lol.

Hey all,

I figured I would jump in here and gather everyone's feedback. First off, thanks to Whisker_whacker for approaching me with the opportunity. I'm happy to make these, but I'd like to ensure we get all the parameters correct. It seems that the ability to accept different handles is key, which leads me down the path of a copper stand and plastic insert, as I did with my stainless stand. With that stand, the black plastic insert is interchangeable, and it is held firmly in the stand with an o-ring. The insert can be pushed out from the bottom, and swapped with other inserts. If you want a visual, you can see some photos on my website. Would you want this same system on the copper stand? Another advantage of this would be the fact that the inserts would be compatible with both my stainless and this copper stand, and I'm already setup to make the inserts.

What finishes would you like to see? I see LOOT mentioned a bright finish. I'm fairly new to copper, so by bright are you referring to a polished finish? Are there any other finishes you'd like to see offered?

Do you prefer leaving the bottom of the stand as-is, or would you want some sort of anti-slip, rubber "foot"?

Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

I'm not sure it is polished.  ?Here is an example.  Pardon my ignorance of your product line.  Do you offer/plan to offer a full copper razor?

That almost looks as-machined, with maybe a little bit of hand work. It's a little tough to tell though. As-machined, copper has a pretty nice shine to it.

As far as my products go, I'm currently working on our first copper product, which is a 3.25" handle. It will also be offered in Brass and Stainless. I do plan on releasing all-copper and all-brass razors in the future (hopefully by the end of 2020).

Thanks!

Agreed, as machined with no serious polish work. That works for me. I can Flitz it up myself.

It would be nice to have an all Copper razor. I suppose I could search IG and dtart following your work.

Thanks for the info...and your participation here on DFS.
