Would an adjustable slant work?

I really like a slant razor and was wondering if an adjustable one would work?

Sure Walbusch made one. I presume it works though I don't own one.

The Walbusch B5 is a diagonal slant and not a torqued slant and so the mechanism is no different from the Progress. If you want to try out the concept, get a PAA Alpha Ecliptic and put a rubber donut in between the base plate and the handle. It won't have the full range of the Walbusch, but it will dial in maybe one to one and a half step. I tried it once and found that if it got too large of a gap, the blade would have a tendency to snag some skin in the space between the edge and safety bar. Doing the same with a torqued slant (I tried it with an Ikon X3) also had limited adjustment before the blade would no longer be held stiff.

Nah. I’m making a non-adjustable one, but there’s no technical impediments to an adjustable mechanism caused by the slant geometry that I can tell.

OK I will be the first one to say that I am an IDIOT and didn't even think about the nylon washer that I use between the base plate and the handle on a few razor combos. I have an old MR5 handle from Maggard that I like, but the top of the handle felt a little rough finish wise so I put a really small nylon washer in between the handle and the base plate of some of my polished razors so it wouldn't damage the finish. Yep that is essentially the same thing as a shim and would change the blade gap correct or no?

I'm no expert but, a washer between handle and baseplate would not affect aggression or gap. It would need to be between the baseplate and the cap.....like a shim.
