Worst razor ever?

Not to incite hatred but I'm curious. Over the years I've used straights, DE razors, SE razors (Gem style and Cobra style), slants, and shavettes. I've come to the conclusion that I can get a good shave with pretty nearly any razor regardless of make or manufacturer. There was one glaring exception. The Merkur Vision. I thought it would be the last razor I'd ever buy. I found the head too bulky, the settings were usually too mild or too aggressive (no sweet spot), and, worse, it eventually gunked up and jammed. 

I feel free to slam this product as it was discontinued some years ago. My apologies to any fans of it out there. 

There seems to be consensus on the best razors, new and vintage. So what were your worst?

AC style razors just don't seem to get along with my sensitive skin.

I can’t remember the model but it was a merkur razor. When I first tried DE shaving I used a merkur that had good reviews on a vendor site (what a surprise). I used it for a week and my face was red and raw and I returned to carts for a year before trying DE again (EJDE89). To be fair, I’m sure my rookie technique contributed to the horror.

I really haven't experienced a bad razor but I have a stamped metal open comb no name vintage that I won't try. Looks like a Nazi torture device and I guessing we're I to try it I would have found my worst razor

I’m going to get hate for this but the shaves I did with the Paradigm 17-4 were the worst I have ever had. The razor cut me cosistently, the shaves were not close, I actually cried when the Aqua Velva aftershave hit my face. The worst burning sensation I ever had. ATG dragged so bad too. I’m sure nothing was wrong with the razor but I just couldn’t make it work for me.

I, also, did not enjoy this razor, whatsoever. The shaves were not very pleasant and it was very inefficient. for me anyway.

Since I can only comment on razors I’ve used...for me the worst was the highly recommended and often praised newbie choice of the DE89. That razor stunk. Couldn’t cut worth a dam regardless of my blade choice. Took so many passes to get a semi respectable result causing more problems and irritation than all my previous bad habits with the canned goo and the multi blade carts. That razor stunk so bad it actually made me write off wetshaving for a bit and go back to carts. I eventually got the razor bug again since continuing to read Shaving forums just drives spending (shocker) and decided to buy a Cobra Classic. Finally started to see what good shaves were all about. Glad I hung in there

You can't deny a man's experience and this should encourage anyone who might be struggling to keep trying and find something that works for them.  While the EJ DE89 has been the gateway razor for lots of men and even the daily driver of experienced wet shaver there will undoubtedly be men for whom it doesn't work.  In my own experience, while the EJ was a huge improvement over the Merkur, it didn't work well with every blade I tried with it.  I kept brief notes on the performance of different blades in the EJ and the notes for the Feather blade3 consisted of one word...ouch.   

If I were making razor recommendations for a guy starting out today and money wasn't that big a concern I'd not hesitate to recommend the Rockwell 6s.  There's a plate for every level of shaver from novice to expert and for sensitive skin to leather hide.  Its like finding that perfect snare drum that has the warmth of wood and the crack of steel and is perfect for every application - you know, the one that exists only in tortured imagination of the cash strapped drummer.
