The Taiga guys did an outstanding job on my Limited Edition Ti model. As good if not better
than wolfmans mirror finish...I believe HLS may have used a jeweller, but don't quote me on it.

It's pricey, but you know your Wolfman razors well enough to now if you'll get the desired value out of it!

Mirror finish is great, but it's a PITA to maintain and ends up looking worse than anything else if it gets normal scratches from normal use. For that reason, anything I own that is mirror polished just sits in my dry cabinet and doesn't get use. This is where I think RazoRock is bizarrely superior ... their razors look good all the time.

As you'd know, Wolfman does a nice brushed matte finish. It's not as nice as the satin, but it's not far off, and if you're using it regularly, I don't think you'll mind.
Things are not so dramatic! Yes, mirror finished razors will all gain light scratches from normal daily use. But, that doesn't affect the shave and this is the MOST important.

These scratches are not even as noticeable as your description make them to be, unless you repeatedly hit your razor in the sink. You have to look very closely and with the help of the light to actually see them.

Others don't even have a Wolfman, they can't get their hands on one.

They are tools. Enjoy them.

Back when I had to get them off of ebay, being unable to connect directly with James, I bought a few mirror polished WR1, and a BBS-1.

Used them for years, no scratches in the mirror finish. When I'm done shaving they go in the stand, into a closet on a cafeteria tray.

Just sayin'  Smile

My Timeless Ti .68 is a solid bar. It feels more aggressive than the .75 and about as aggressive as a .85 to me. Both wolfman gaps are more efficient than the Timeless which to me means very comfortable shaves. with the wolfman I don't need to buff as much as the Timeless, and thus get less irritation. The timeless has a much more precise cutting angle whereas with the WR2 I can ride the bar, the cap, or right in between which I think is the intended way.

I think the smaller gap WR2s are really something special because they still cut very well and give BBS but they are super gentle. Just a guess that this happens because the geometry still allows for a fairly large gap. No other razor is really designed this way.

Lastly, I'd totally recommend getting 2 different gaps on the same razor because it almost gives you an adjustable. You can switch the side on passes (I like to switch to the lower gap on the final 2 passes) or if you need to shave more frequently than usual you can just use the lower gap side only to minimize irritation.

so have a wolfman .95 and a 1.15 I got recently but the 1.15 is to much for my face daily shaving
kinda thinking of trading off my 1.05 for a .85 now ! my end goal will be a Ti model and while I love the Timeless OC I hear the Wolfman OC does feel a bit harsher so am curious so unless I could trade for one might not bother

my timeless Ti I have all 3 .68 plates and find the SB is not as efficient and agree with the more buffing now my .68 OC though for me doing tons of back to back with my woflman I am finding almost the same post comfort feel but of course the Wolfman .95 does it with less clean up and buffing Smile

curious how you are still liking the dual gaps and would you still do the dual gap or just go with one or the other now you have had it a while (maybe asking do you favor one over the other)
thanks

question to any Woflman users who have the satin/matte finish and have used the basic polish and the matte if you notice any face feel difference ? or even those with the satin/matte finish that have other polished and if they notice anything on the face

the only other two razors I have with a non polished finish are a Rex Ambassador and the Yates in stonewash finish and both have this subtle drag feel that my polished do not have ?

just love the looks of the satin and reckon will just have to try on my own to really know but am curious Smile

I don’t notice any difference between any of the finishes.

Honestly I ordered the basic finish and am more than pleased with it. Looks great and easy to maintain.

Still using the dual gap and sold all my other razors at this point. It's my grail. I get daily comfortable BBS shaves which was the goal from day 1. No other razor had this balance of comfort and closeness.

If I had to do it again I'd get the same exact razor I have today.

If you're asking me "if you could only have one gap" I'd say .75 all the way for me. I think it still gets close enough for BBS but I don't feel the blade at all - just hear the hair being cut.

Hi guys, long time lurker, first time poster. I'm considering getting on the list.

I owned a BBS-1 back in the day but foolishly sold it to fund another purchase (thinking they wouldn't be discontinued).

The BBS-1 gap was 1.0 mm and I've read several times that the WR2 0.95 mm SB does not shave the same as the BBS-1. For those of you that have used both the BBS-1 and the WR2, which WR2 SB gap is the closest to the BBS-1, would it be a 1.0 mm, a 1.05 mm or something else?

Cheers!

To me, the BBS-1 shaves similar to my 1.35. Some will agree with this, some will not.
