has anyone here tried a .75 and a .95 gap and can compare the two? I'm guessing .85 is not a large enough difference. I get really nice shaves with the .95 but it's too aggressive for daily shaving. I don't want to lose the efficiency, just add a little more comfort.

I’m assuming you’ve tried your .95 with different blades? I can usually dial my shave up or down depending on blade  choice. For example- Feather Blade to dial it up a bit, GSB to take it down a notch. Beautiful Razor, congratulations.

There’s a .85 on the BST.
I hear the .75 is incredibly mild. How long have you had the .95? I wouldn’t rush to trade it and like above try some other blades first. I own the .95 in SS. You will lose efficiency dropping down the gap like any other razor.

Personally I think the WR1 is better if you want a mild razor. The .48 may be a better fit for you?

Or even a low gapped WR3.

I've got WR1 0.74 DC, 0.86 OC, 0.94 DC. The 0.74 is hands down the most comfortable, and plenty efficient.

The 0.86 is noticeably more aggressive, and the 0.94 a bit more so. My hand may have something to do with that as well.

I had both SB & OC in WR1 0.61 and sold both of them once I scored a 0.74. The 0.61 was what James called 'standard' back years ago. 0.74 was the first option for a higher gap until guys started pushing the envelope. AFAIK.

My latest order, which I'm awaiting as I type, is a WR1 0.80 SB in bronze. Hoping that will be the sweet spot Goldilocks gap .... IOW ... Just right  Smile

I don't know what to suggest to you concerning your best gap choice. One man's meat is another man's poison.

Excellent.  Compare the 2 guards?  How does the 135OC feel?

1.35 OC Ti is great. I can use the 1.35 2 days in a row without irritation. I can't use the 1.55 OC SS I have 2 days in a row without irritation.

I do OC side for first and second passes, then switch to SB side for against the grain 3rd pass. 1.35oc/1.15sb has been great.

I also have a 1.25 OC / 1.05 SB SS, and I think I like the 1.35/1.15 ti better.

Any thoughts on how the 1.0 gap compares to the 0.95 gap and the BBS-1? ExtraProtein I read in the other Wolfman thread you've used all three?

I'm honestly still really surprised that he doesn't just offer the BBS1 head as an option.

The BBS-1 may not even be a possibility now if there was some type of licensing or IP agreement with LASSC in the past.

It is very similar to the WR2, but the thing I like about the BBS1 is the top cap is a lot thinner.

BBS-1 left, WR2 135 Ti right
