I will be all in for what ever the new razor and offerings are come November!!

10-15K for a razor???   Huh

Anyway, my name came up from the waitlist and I decided to postpone. Maybe I should proceed with the order to avoid higher prices???

I received my latest WR2 this morning and was surprised that I could see visible machine marks on the long bevels on the top of the base plate (so those surfaces are shiny and textured where they are shiny and perfectly smooth on previous orders).  Maybe they just need to slow down orders while they sort out how to do QA/QC to previous standards now that it's a two man machine shop.

It is info like this that keeps me from reinstating my postponed order. Originally postponed to wait for Ti, but now I know I 'probably' don't want Ti.

I had been considering a 1.35 WR2 SS in the upcharged brushed satin with a hybrid hollow handle. If it isn't up to James' old standard of perfection I'll pass.

At the same time he introduced the Google form wait list he raised his SS prices. It wasn't 'that' significant, but it was higher.

I cannot imagine his pending price hike will be too much to justify, and I'm thinking Ti will be included, since the last price rise didn't affect the Ti prices ... though it was unavailable, so ... no wonder the Ti didn't go up.

You didn’t mention if you ordered the basic/textured or the upgraded mirror finish. If it was the basic/textured then it’s a hit and miss as several have received a lesser finish since several months now, but if there were flaws with the upgraded mirror finish I probably wouldn’t be happy either.

I'd like to think any mirror or satin order gets JD's personal attention.
If not, why pay the extra?

I remember reading on his site the caveat that the basic finishes could display machine marks.

I have two basic brushed heads and Ive never looked at them with an eyepiece but they
look just fine to me.

Keith I can’t find your post with commentary regarding marriage but that’s my “GOLD STAR 2021” best comment ever! I told my bride, she rolled her eyes at me and said “I double dog dare you” Now I’m afraid to sleep!

I’d like to think NOTHING leaves the shop without James looking at every detail

Personally, I like the “old” 2 finish system, but I get it

Let’s go to straight customs and be done with it all. Aluminum, SS, Copper, Brass, Bronze and Ti.  Pick it all out from the menu of services. Mirror, satin, hobo polishes…. Engrave whatever words/numbers you want on it etc.   I like the old way of engraving gap on my plates

I always boast about “I’m NOT waiting in any line to spend my money on a razor or brush, blah, blah, blah…. Yet there I am in line…trying to cut up front with the cool kids
