I certainly believe so...although these things vary a lot from individual to individual.
For my growth profile....prolific, tough, fast, coarse beard growth with normal skin, it works.
Someone with sensitive skin may not like it so much.

I've come to the end of my journey with hyper-efficient razors for now....0.94 WR1. 1.35 WR2 and 1.55 WR2.
These totally tame my beard.

I've been harbouring a  theory for a while now – that these hyper efficient razors with substantial blade exposure,
while devastatingly efficient, can exact a toll on skin when used frequently. My skin's become a little leathery
after switching to them, and the beard seems to re-grow faster than before . Anyways, I'm now looking into scoring
a nice razor that puts comfort and gentleness in the front seat....although I don't know if I'll like it.

Looking at a couple of adjustable options (so if I can crank them up if I don't like mild)...Taiga, Tatara, even the
humongous Sailor...all on the table....let's see how it all shakes out.

Have you tried an SE razor before?  The Paradigm SE or even the RazoRock Hawk paired with a Feather Pro or Pro Super if you're after extreme sharpness will give you a comfortable shave and will slice through the toughest whiskers. I think it's the blade thickness and clamping which cuts down on blade chatter and makes them so smooth.

Paid on May 14th, shipping notification on May 22, received in NY today.....  WR2 1.15 with a WRH2 hollow 90mm and also a WRH7 hollow 98mm (I already have the WRH7 in 90 hollow and get a sense some folks like the longer handle better for the WR2). All, basic polish. So, here it is:

I love the look of the WRA2. I don't have a stand, but I have always admired that design.

Just received the proceed with your order email. Filled out the form on 15 January.

Not sure if I'm going to order though, really happy with my WR1 OC standard gap and prefer the older brushed finish.

You're probably gonna laugh but after I kept reading about those high gaps which made my head spin I decided to double shim my WR 1.20. Feeler gauge came back around 1.40.
I couldn't believe how smooth and efficient that shave was. At first I thought it was a fluke so I did it again for several shaves and each time I was blown away. I could easily have stopped after the second pass but I enjoy doing 3 passes. To me blade feel is way less than my WR1 .61/.67. Different, but less. I still can't believe how easy and super efficient it is. A double shimmed 1.20. I've tried it with my top 3 blades (Personna Red / Gillette Platinum Black / Voskhod) and the results are very similar in terms of efficiency and smoothness.

I remember Herbert herbert7890 having the exact same experience when he double shimmed his 1.15. I tried 3 shims and it was still smooth (maybe a bit less) but there was way more blade feel and I had to be more careful. The efficiency was pretty much the same but at the expense of losing some comfort. I tried it several times but I favor the double shim hands down. Maybe my technique has improved, maybe my beard and skin is changing as I'm aging,...  I have no clue but what I do know, it works for me.
