Mine shipped on the eighth. The tracking hasn't updated since the ninth. I don't know if it's still in Canada waiting to cross the border or waiting to be scanned by US customs. Hopefully I'll have it by Christmas but I'm not very optimistic about that.

Mine shipped on Nov. 26 and didn't reach SF customs until two days ago. Now, it has to travel to the East Coast. Even I don't think it'll get here until after Christmas.

What gap has a similar efficiency to an R41?

I just had a spectacular shave with a WR2 0.95 SB and 3 shims. However they were configured in the following scenario (Top cap - shim - blade - shim - shim - bottom plate). I have sensitive skin and I generally don't like a lot of blade feel but can't get the efficiency I want without the 2 shims. So I added the shim between the top cap and blade and that tamed it down a little while still maintaining efficiency.

Has anyone else tried this? If I bought a new Wolfman, would a 1.15 shave the same if I added just the one shim between the top cap and blade? Or is there some sort of voodooo extra blade stiffening/rigidity going on that makes this 3 shim method preferable over a higher gap?

What you did sounds more like a 1.05 to me. If you put 2 on the bottom and 1 on the top, that should be the same as 1 shim.

I don’t think the above is correct. He did increase the gap between the blade and safety bar. He also lessened the angle between the cap and blade. I would only say in doing this it’s contrary to what others have recommended and I use is a steep angle. With that the cap is less in the equation and you can just decide on what you like for the gap. I have a 1.55 and run it pretty steep and get great shaves.

I'm not sure I'm following. I haven't read this whole thread. Is the consensus that to get the best shaves from the WR2 to use a steep angle?

What I think I'm doing with the additional shim between the cap and blade is I'm effectively decreasing the blade exposure that I would normally have with 2 shims between the blade and baseplate.

I’d like to know this as well.

My WR1 .94 seems similar in efficiency to the R41.  My WR1.25 is not quite there.

1.35 or 1.45 should work.
If you can take a R41 you'll LOVE a 1.55 though.
