Can always easily sell what you don't like too and get to try out a variety. If i get on the waitlist again and grab another in the future I'll definitely do that. Thanks for the intel! For sure, I'm beyond excited to try it out. I had a Mirror Polished WR1 .61 WRH7 before I bought on Craigslist of all places. I wasn't a fan of how it shaved but the WRH7 handle is super nice. Decided to go with the WRH2 this time around cause it's straight up sexy. The basic polish looks almost just as good as the mirror polished to me based on video but could be different IRL. We'll see!
Well it is not as good as the mirror ... but it is plenty good. If you have both you can see the difference, but if you look at the basic by itself it is quite good. I think for my next one I'm going to go the $50 upcharge per piece for the Brushed Satin. I have one in that finish and I really like it a lot.
Mirror Polished WR1 is long gone but I'll try to compare by memory. Really excited to admire the craftsmanship once it lands here. Really love how the WR2 head looks, and also find the side tabs to hold the blade to be neat vs using blade posts. Also learned recently that the BBS-1 is based off of a weishi 3 piece tech clone. I find that to be absolutely hilarious the holy grail of razors that goes for $1000+ on the secondhand market is based off of a $5 pot metal generic razor, therefore the WR2 is too. Hahaha. And for sure can't go wrong with a nice satin finish. I usually prefer matte finish on razors like the karve, tatara, silversmith but for the Wolfman I felt like it would be a sin to pass up on the polish. Although if I ever get a second one I'll definitely try the brushed finish. It looks superb for sure.

The basic polish looks almost as good from distance, but the differences are noticeable as you get closer. I don’t think the mirror polish is worth the money, but the basic should be a little better for a $300 razor. Both of mine shave really well, so I can overlook the polish.

TBH it is a PITA ! When I only had a couple it wasn't so bad, now, with half a dozen it requires some focused attention.

Once, reaching for a WR1 .94 DC I was amazed at how smooth the shave was. When cleaning it up following the shave I realized I had grabbed a .74 DC by mistake

Here's a .86 WR1 with the gap engraved. I requested engraving on the .94 last year but James is no longer offering that service, at least not at that time.

It looks awesome with the engraving! I wonder why he doesn't offer it anymore. Also if that was a dual gap having .67 on the other side or whatever would make it so much easier to know rather then examining it up close and looking for the small difference in blade gap. That's one of the reasons i decided to pass on one, the other reason being i figure if there's one side I like a lot more it would be annoying only being able to use one side.

Just speculating, but when he began the google form ordering he cut out a lot of the special request stuff to facilitate fulfilling the greater volume of orders.

That's understandable, if it allows more razors to get into enthusiasts hands it's a worthwhile sacrifice.

BTW, what is the estimated wait time as per most current estimates?
I remember following the chat when it was about 9 months wait after registering via the form.

I received confirmation of my Google order form on March 2nd 2020. So I'm at 9 months, and expecting the proceed with order email any day.  Remains to be seen if and when I get the go ahead.  Blush
