If I was a daily shaver for work...or if shaving was just a task I needed to move through the quickest, efficiently would definitely be the top characteristic I'd be after.(10-28-2020, 02:12 AM)LOOT Wrote:James; would it be fair to say you Gents that prefer higher gaps are trying to get that perfect shave with the least amount of strokes and passes as smooth as possible?(10-27-2020, 11:36 PM)Fedsbackhand Wrote: Interesting, I'm not really keen on the ultra high gaps as I'm a mild shaver but I do see those gaps are pretty popular. Are the 0.95-1.35 gaps radically different in smoothness alone, putting efficiency aside for a minute?
No sir, not to me. I've used all of the gaps and owned all but 1. They are all very smooth. Blade feel increases in a relatively linear fashion, as does efficiency, but if you could eliminate those two variables, the smoothness is pretty damned stable....on my face.
The vast majority of the time, I do 2.5 passes no matter what razor I use. This allows me to autopilot and not really care about my beard map. I know 2.5 passes will get all of the hair WTG, XTG, and against leaving me BBS.
BBS duration is also a major reason I like to play with big gaps. Crazy how long some of these razors will leave skin stubble free.
