Smoothness\ efficiency ratio of 1.25, 1.35 and 1.45 compared will be very useful. Lots of honorable members write “1.45 could be my daily driver”. Is there anybody who is actually shaving daily with a wr2 1.45 gap?

I tried shaving with a 1.45 SB, 2 passes daily, for 2 weeks straight. Smallest amount of irritation on the neck in my trouble area, but mainly I was disappointed by having nothing to shave after 24 hours. If I were to shave every other day, I'd take the 1.45 SB and sell everything else. I much prefer the 1.05 - 1.25 range for daily shaving.

That's a great razor but I would recommend you get the handle hollowed because the WRH1 could be very heavy as I already have that and I wish I would have ordered it hollow

I love my heavy wrh2xl. I don't want it light

I shaved with my 1.55 SB daily for a week or so. Smooth as silk. Personally I wouldn't 'settle' for less. Go for the gusto ! If you get less than 1.55 you'll always be wondering what might have been ...  Cool

Thank you, sweetreason. That’s the explanation I was looking for.

I can do either on the WR2,  but as many have said as well, I think it does work better with steeper angle (you can hear the diff when you go steeper with WR2,  it cuts deeper I think)

Bummer for sure...but at least you are just next door (figuratively speaking). If I know this
dude's style, he will put you at the front of the queue while he cranks out your correct
handle choice.

I use 1.35/45/55 only and rotate depending on situation.

For my kind of growth, 1.35 is for daily use, 1.45 for 2 days' growth and 1.55 for anything above.

At least that's how it's worked out for me....I could just as easily use a 1.35 on 5 days growth.

The trick with WR2 is finding your minimum acceptable gap...and for me it is 1.35

As someone said, difference between 1.35 and 1.45 is noticeable....between 1.45 and 1.55 the performance gap narrows.

I've used every WR2 blade gap except the 1.35. Maybe I'll put my next Wolfman order for that blade gap.

I have to agree re: the 1.35 vs the mighty Blackbird,
In my experience the step up from 1.35 to 1.45 is significant, however I did not find going from 1.45 to 1.55 to be as beneficial, the 1.55 for me gave way a little smoothness for Very little more efficiency,
I have settled on the 1.45 as the sweet spot for the Wr2 gaps, as always Ymmv.
I look forward to hearing your shimmed comparisons Cool

Tester28, LOOT, JimmyH and anyone else who has both, do you agree with the above assessment on 1.45 vs 1.55: does 1.55 have a drop in smoothness? Or is it just as smooth as 1.45?

Yeah, in my case nothing beats a steep angle. A much closer shave, free of weepers and irritation.
I might venture a shim or two.
