Whisk-her Away I got a Titanium WR2 SB 1.45/1.35 but that was not the point of my post - it was the process and generosity of all the shave members I was trying to highlight.

Got sidetracked and didn't update. On Wednesday evening around 8PM I shaved the third day in a row with the 1.55. Twenty four hours after the previous shave. A brand new Wizamet blade, and MDC. Smooth as silk, and no irritation once again.

I read vicstarr's post, where he shaved 5 straight days with the 1.55 and it seems for some of us this razor would do fine as a daily shaver. I'll finish out the week with it and go to a different razor on Sunday just for the sake of variety. That being my usual habit.

Smooth shaving y'all !

There are some very generous and kind people here, no doubt. Glad you hooked up with some.

All my personal Wolfman razors are DC, using the OC for first pass then SB for subsequent passes.  Will stipulate finding the WR2 in SS having a subtly more aggressive face feel perhaps equal to a 0,05 gap increase but nothing to cause great concern or weigh negatively in the decision to purchase (presuming one likes OC baseplates). Suspect the relative similarity of OC v SB baseplate feel amongst the more regarded manufacturers results from the care and execution of machining leading to their reputation and success
I've also gotten a few DCs in Wolfman, and I also do the OC on the first pass, figuring it does the 'heavy lifting', and the more forgiving SB the clean up.

The first time I recall reading that the OC is the equivalent of 1 gap higher was on the Karve website. He states that you can figure you're going a gap higher with the same letter plate if it is OC, as opposed to SB.

Oddly enough I want to believe that.  Smile It would make life simpler for me somehow. The hell of it is I can't be sure in my own hands on shaving with OC vs SB of the same gap, or even my WR2 1.15 OC/ 1.25 SB. I do get the impression the 1.15 shaves the same as the 1.25 but I don't know if I'm kidding myself just because I want to believe it.  Blush

My perspective isn’t that OC in a given gap is as much more efficient as it doesn’t clog as easily rinsing clean quickly, particularly in milder gaps preferred (WR1: 0,54-0,67/WR2: 0,95-1,05). Hence why use it on first pass only to clear and rinse heavy beard growth

Is it crazy to think one should get a DC with the OC being the higher gap? Never had a wolfman, but seems like it would be nice to have a 1.35OC for the first pass (CG lvl 3) and then a 1.15 sb for the second / third pass (CG lvl 2)? In my mind I’d like to grab as much of the hair off in the first pass WTG so there’s less for a mild pass XTG / ATG. Or maybe it’s just my face / thoughts. Anyone have a combo like this out there???

Unique perspective to be sure but your rationale is sound.

8 PM shave. 24 hours since the last one.

1.55 with MDC and 2nd use Wizamet.

DFS with no irritation. That's the third day in a row.

Maybe the 1.55 is an 'everyday shaver'  Smile

Given a choice between OC and SB for any given razor, I always choose the OC. Aesthetics, mostly, though I like blade-forward, efficient razors and the consensus seems to be that OC razors generally are more blade-forward than SBs. I can't really contribute to that conversation, given that I go with the OC. I have both OC and SB Charcoal Goods gen. 1 Level 3 razors, however, and I don't really notice a difference. I do notice a difference between the Ikon Shavecraft Tech, an SB razor, and all my dozens of others--it's WAY more aggressive. So I've decided to stick with my aesthetic OC preference, without regard to "aggressiveness."

P.S. I've got both the WR2 1.35 OC and the Charcoal Goods L3 razors I mentioned. On my face, they're very similar.

It definitely is an everyday shaver. I have noticed that, for me, shaving on 3 day growth generally is when I've been able to shave the best. I usually can't last that long without shaving though, I start feeling stubble and get an itch to shave. With the 1.55 the stubble doesn't come as often so the need for everyday is needed as much for me, I just wanted to see if I could go through it. I honestly, couldn't ask for more out of that razor. I love it.
