So the 1.05 sb would have the same amount of blade feel as the CG lvl 2? Or just similar efficiency? I like a bit of blade feel, it helps to tell me where I’m at. Does blade feel increase dramatically as you move up in gap. What GAP would give me a bit of blade feel, similar to the CG lvl 2?

The 1.05 SB for me had the same efficiency as the CG Lvl2 but the blade feel is minimal or non existent on the 1.05. If you want to have the same blade feel as the Lvl 2 you should go for a 1.35 or a higher gap but still you wont get too much blade feel out of this razor especially XTG  and ATG.

I had a 1.25 OC and the 1.05 SB and put some shims to simulate the higher blade gaps and with the simulated 1.35 gap on both heads the blade feel was similiar but not the same as as the CG Lvl2.

You will get a more efficient shaver, the simulated 1.35 gave me a similar cut as the R41 but without the blade feel and more comfortable shave.

I've not tried a CG L2, but I've got three CG L3s, two OC and one SB. All three are more blade-forward than my WR2 1.35 OC, and a bit more efficient in my hand. I love my WR2; just trying to lend some data from one face.

Question about shimming! - I just shimmed my WR2 0.95 SB. I but calipers on the shim and it measured exactly .10. Does this mean that shimming my my 0.95 will turn in into a 1.05? I know if this were the case blade exposure would increase as blade gap increases. So my questions is...

Are the higher blade gap WR2's literally the same safety bar but milled out more to simply increase gap? or Does Wolfman also extend the bar outwards in an effort to minimize blade exposure increase as the gap increases?

Same base plate, only the gap is milled out so your single shim is a very good indicator of what a 1.05 is like  Wink

Received my invoice this morning. I finally decided on what I want since titanium is not available at this time.

I have a number of mirror polished, and one brushed/polished (upcharge) so I compared them with my Guerilla and decided to go polished basic/textured.

Figuring it will be at least as nicely finished as the Guerrilla, and I'll easily be able to tell it apart from the rest of the herd. If the 1.55 turns out to be my favorite among my gaps I'll order that in Ti when the material is available, and then I'm done !!  Rolleyes

WR2 -SB Razor Head (Blade Gaps 1.55mm) (Polished Basic/Textured)

WRH3 Handle 90mm Solid/Standard (Polished Basic/Textured)

WRA1 Stand (Polished Basic/Textured)

Regarding being able to easily distinguish between the various Wolfman Razors (Base Plates) in your (My) Collection, I have always struggled for an easy/simple solution. When I was able to get my Sept. 2019 'email WM razor', I requested if I could get the base plate engraved and sent James a photo of the engraving he did in early 2016. James stated that he could engrave the base plate, but that the FONT used would be smaller.

It was, indeed, smaller. So, I sought an easy and economical solution at my local Jeweler for my other base plates. There was a $20 'set up charge' for the first base plate, but the end result was $76 USD (including tax) for FIVE base plates. I chose a slightly larger Font than the one used by James, but there were numerous options available, NOT limited by font size. Below is a photo of the base plate engraved by James (Right side, .86 OC) and the Left side Laser Engraved, local Jeweler (.86 DC). Also a photo from James of ONE of the early 2016 engraving options (Larger Font).

BTW: The Jeweler only did ONE PASS with the Laser, it was enough. Also, I had a choice of two background or fill-in colors for the numbers, I chose the darker of the two.
There was also some 'over-spray' of the process, I just polished it out/away with some Flitz polish.

Damn at the array of gear. Thanks for sharing.

My wife has a CriCut thingy that does clingy vinyl sheets. I had her do some labels for my plates to play with. It worked very well, except for my anal retentiveness...so, I just dedicate a handle to a head and drive on.

Ha! ... Just to clarify, I ONLY received the 2106 PHOTO of the Ti engraved base plates, NOT the Ti razors themselves (It was just a photo example/sample of one of the engravings James offered in 2106).
FYI: I am STILL seeking my FIRST Ti Wolfman!
