Wolfman WR2 Head Discussion

The idea of wondering about the higher gap is probably my main motivation for going with the 1.45.
I do have a good bit of growth after 24 hrs when using the Timeless .95, even with 2 shims added. 
I have yet to run into a razor that provides a shave lasting more than 24 hours. 
If the 1.45 does provide a 24+ hour shave I can rotate in the timeless or trade down.

Are you familiar with revolvers ? The 44 magnum, was, and still is one of the most desirable calibers to have. The 41 magnum not so much, though it has a lot going for it. Resale value the 44 out does the 41 every time.

The 1.55 is the 44 magnum of DE gaps due to the buzz on this, and other boards. The buzz is because it is so good. If Dirty Harry was wet shaving, he'd use a 1.55. The 1.45, and below kind of like the 41, good, but they don't have the same reputation.

To me the 1.25 is the 357 magnum. A great every day carry, great performer. For an everyday shaver I'd be happy with my 1.25s. YMMV.

I am familiar with revolvers. I love my Super Blackhawk 44 mag. I also enjoy my GP 101 in 357 mag. I am also a fan of not so popular things, and stepping away from revolvers, my favorite caliber of handgun is the 357 sig. 
Basing your evaluation of market value, and my preference for great but maybe underrated, maybe I am on the right track. 
I know comparing handguns to razors is a stretch, but I believe your comparison leads to some revelations of the way I like my “things”. 
I’ve never been a most popular choice kind of guy.

That was an outstanding analogy! May I suggest the 0,95 like a 9mm - ubiquitous, inexpensive on secondary market and gets the job done in the hands of those skilled; the 0,95DC like a Brn 10 (or 357 Sig) just an absolute giant killer.

Haha but carrying about cocked and locked in a shoulder holster or belly band requires a deep faith in Kimber and God  Haha

I think there is something to it. My 1.25 OC seems more efficient, than my 1.25 SB, as good as the SB is ... and that is very, very good. 

Might be imagining it though ... 

There are some manufacturers where there isn't a huge delta sb vs oc unless gaps change BUT with duFour razors have found the OC always seems a step or so higher than SB equivalent

My WR2 Ti DC 1.45/1.55 are both SB’s. The only comparison I can make with conviction based on my own personal experience was when I compared a 1.25 SS OC to my Ti 1.25 OC and for me the Ti was noticeably smoother and found the SS OC a tad bit harsh as far as face feel goes. Also when comparing the 1.25 OC side of my WR2 Ti DC to the 1.35 SB side I find the 1.35 SB to be just a tad bit more efficient but also a bit smoother than the OC side. If it was a SS I’m convinced that the difference would be even more noticeable. When looking at the OC’s on both the WR2 SS and the Ti OC under a magnifier it seems like James polishes the Ti more and it looks somewhat rounder than the OC in SS. For some I may be splitting hairs here but I have a few friends that have both Ti and SS OC that notice the same thing so at least I know I’m not the only duck in the pond who believes this to be true. Lol

What would be similar to a Charcoal goods lvl 2 DC in WR2 heads? The lvl 3 is a bit much for me daily, do-able, but not as smooth as the lvl 2 DC. Am I looking more at a 1.05 / 1.15 / 1.25?

I think 1.05 is ever so slightly more efficient than level 2 CG but smoother. 1.15 will smoke a level2 imo. I own both gaps but if I am using a DE for daily shaving I think you can’t beat the 1.05
