Has anyone tried the hollow WRH7? Will it be akin to a Ti handle?

I have and would say, very akin.....the WRH7 90mm Ti is 41gm while the SS hollow version is 1gm lighter.

I would recommend the 98mm WRH7...hollow. Trust me, it feels just right in the hand...and at 56gm or so
the pairing with a 33gm head should be sublime.

I´m set on a WR2 SB 1.15 but not sure about handle. My experience with WM handles is limited to a WRH2 90mm (with a WR1 OC .74), and I find this quite heavy. It depends on balance and other dimensions, and I do think I have some razors that in fact are quite heavy yet still feel lighter than their numbers in grams should indicate, but generally I think I gravitate toward lighter handles.

And here´s the question: I´m eyeing a WRH7, also in 90mm. Will a hollow version, weighing only 40 grams(!), throw the balance off, and should I rather go with standard/solid weighing in at 72g? Somehow I have a hunch that the hollow WRH2 at 64g would be the ideal weight, but I kinda want the 7. Or the 7 hybrid..

Any advice to offer this bewildered, indecisive soul? Has anyone tried the hollow WRH7? Will it be akin to a Ti handle?

(Apologies if this has been covered here or elsewhere; no luck from searching.)
I love the 7 most of all for looks, but the 1, or the 2 for utility. The more aggressive knurling is my friend. I like the look of the 7 and 3, but the smooth surfaces make shaving more of a chore. YMMV. Congrats on grabbing the brass ring !

I see now that you posted on the WRH7 hollow in the post just preceding mine, JimmyH  Confused Doh! The long one, though. Then again, that was also the suggestion of Tester28 — so maybe, maybe... Thanks, both!  Happy2

I had experience using Ti WRH7 98mm and SS WRH7 90mm. Both handles are good, but visually the longer handle does not look proportionate. If you plan to take a photo this may be a little inconvenience. At the same time, if you have a big hand, then usability is above all.

If this your first duFour razor, you are in for a treat.  Even by motorsports standards (which are so high aerospace now recruits from THEIR ranks), James' workmanship is unbelievable.  Prepare to be amazed.

Waaaaayyyyy too much money for a razor in a world filled with need BUT you'll never question where the money went.  Congratulations.

Prefer super long WRH2 handles made out of super polished SS without hollowing (heft is my friend).  WR2 is great and smoother but prefer the katana like WR1 and BBS1

I just had a flawless transaction with Petronius - could not be happier or recommend him more highly!

I’ve dealt with Petronius in the past as well. He’s a class act, and I’ve had nothing but great interactions with him. Don’t hesitate to deal with such a stand up guy.

Just so we’re clear I wasn’t indicating in any way he’s not a great guy or seller. I would have pounced on that razor by now if the funds were available.

Am I wrong in my observation that, recently at least, it's the low-gapped models that don't seem to pop-up on BST's very much? Or is it simply a matter of higher-gapped ones being the decided favorite among serious enthusiasts, thus ensuring a higher volume of secondary market activity?

Anyway, I would've been a contender (<--- Brando voice) for that listing cited above were it for a 1.05, or even .95 gap.

Basic brushed or satin brushed? My number will come up soon and I need to decide which route to go. I like brushed razors as opposed to polish, so I am definitely going that route. It's just a matter of deciding whether to do the most basic brushed or spend up some to the Satin brushed.  Also, my question probably applies only to the Head. I am pretty set that I want to go with basic brushed on the handle. The reason is that I've found that when the edges and knurling of the handle are polished, it makes them less grippy. I have tried the mirror polish and compared it to a Satin version of the same handle and there was a big difference in grip. Therefore, for the handle, I will go with basic to keep it as grippy as possible.  What say the group?

I’ve owned several Wolfman ‘Satin Brushed’ Razors, and they were absolutely beautiful. For me personally, the ‘Satin’ is worth the up charge. Knowing that it could potentially be a long while before you have the chance to snag a Wolfman from the wait list again I would take full advantage. I would also recommend going ‘Satin’ on the Handle. Dufour is not sloppy with his work, and I noticed no difference whatsoever in grip when comparing a Mirror Polished Handle to a like Satin Handle. The OCD in me would also drive me nuts if the Head and Handle weren’t the same. From pics I’ve seen you can definitely tell the difference between his Satin and Basic Brushed finishes.
