Why's that Jimmy? Is it noticeably smoother for you?
Indeed it is. I'm experimenting with various blades in the .94, and swapping handles, to try and find the best combination for this particular head. It is what I would call a 'blade forward' razor in this gap. Might be too much of a good thing for me, time will tell.  Rolleyes

In WR1 I have .74 DC, .86 OC, and .94 DC. The .94 being the most recent acquisition. I think I like the .86  better than the .94. I'm still working on 'getting to know' the .94, but that is where it is right now.
I think I would like a 74 or 80 OC in the WR1, but I haven't decided yet.  Fortunately, I have a lot of time to think about it.  I might decide to just stick with what I have though.  I don't need anymore razors.

I'm kind of curious Jimmy, and I guess this can go for any of us. About how long or how many shaves before you usually make up your mind doing something like this.

Well, that varies. For instance, when I got the WR2 DC 1.15 OC/1.25 SB directly from James it was love at first shave. The same for the WR2 0C 1.25 I bought from a forum member shortly thereafter. I suppose, if memory serves I could say the same for the WR1 DC .74, and WR1 OC .86 purchased on ebay years ago.

This razor didn't impress me in that way. So I suppose I'm trying to find a combination between blade and handle that will suit me and give me the same satisfaction I've gotten from the aforementioned razors. I know LOOT likes the .94, and IIRC others do as well.

Eventually if I can't find the sweet spot for it I'll see if there might not be someone out there who might like it better than I do, but I want to give it a real chance before I give up on it. Going to try a red personna in it today.

Im one of them.
+1 , I had the WR1 in 0.61SB and 0.70OC. Just never gelled with the razor. The WR2 is completely different. Really nice efficient & smooooth shaving...

I guess this is why we try so many razors and combinations. I kind of like the .74 OC and .86 SB both. But I'm not so sure they're that much different than others, for the $$$.
It's just interesting to me what others go through also. Some razors just irritate me one way or the other, maybe in two ways.lol

I’ve been lucky enough to have a 1.05, 1.15, and 1.25 and I couldn’t see myself getting rid of any of them. For my growth any of those heads can deal with my twice a week shaves. No hiccups on the 3 days growth first pass with any of them. If I had to choose right now I’d say the 1.15 is probably my favorite but it’s also the one I’ve spent most time with. The 1.25 is just as amazing and by the 24-36 hr mark I can see the difference in closeness compared to the 1.15. The head geometry of this razor just clicks for me. Bulkier and less nimble than the WR1 but with an increased smoothness. To me it’s a less fickle more autopilot type head design. I’ve been spending my time just enjoying my shaves and less on concentrating on them. I find the slightly heavier head to balance better with the solid handles which I prefer to use. I am interested though in experimenting with a hollow variant to see the effect. I’ll happily wait however long it takes to make my next bump up in gap whenever that may be. It’s a head design that seems to be tolerant of a wide variety of experimentation.
