My mistake, it was Sept 6th, not Sept 9th. Sorry for any confusion.

Congrats on the superb collection.

He addressed Ti Darwin in his reddit AMA by saying that it's possible. He uses a special machine to cut the
stock and so he does them ALL at one go. He did also say that in a year or so he would
do a batch of TI...something like that.

A Darwin Ti would be interesting for sure, it would probably weigh around 30gm or so ... the entire razor
would be approx 45gm I guess,

Hey Hunter

Since trying Ti in WR2 I've wondered how it translates into the WR1 head.

WR1 in SS, as you know, has a fair bit of blade feel....since you've used both
SS and Ti would you say the Ti in WR1 tames the blade feel a little?

Hello Tester-

Yes, in my opinion the Titanium in both WR1 and WR2 has a ‘softer’ face feel compared to like gaps in Stainless. I feel the efficiency is still right in step with their Stainless counterparts. My Ti WR1 .80 OC is able to get me just as smooth and close a shave as his Stainless brother. It’s definitely nice to be able to switch things up a bit with the Ti though.

Re: big gap Wr2's,

It's interesting that one member described the 1.45 SS as being as efficient as the 1.55 SS but a little smoother than the 1.55, another describes a photo finish between 1.45 in SS compared to 1.55 in Ti, other than the softened face feel of the Ti which is reported, perhaps 1.45 in SS is the optimum for the Wr2 taking into account efficiency & smoothness?
My personal experience of the 1.45 SS to date is inspiring however pushing to 1.55 does not feel necessary & could in fact spoil the smooth shave that it gives, however this will not stop me slipping in a single shim in the next few days to get a comparison......... Cool

It would be of interest comparing specifically SS to SS & Ti to Ti to give an idea of like to like gap comparisons for those who have interest in SS over Ti & vice versa.

I want to thank everyone who has participated in the thread for providing guidance through their experiences.  I shave everyday with 3 passes (WTG, XTG & ATG) with either a Polsliver, Kai or Feather. My weapon of choice started with a Timeless SS DC 68 OC / SB then moved up to the 95 DC, which soon to became my daily driver, as I determined I needed more efficiency in some areas especially under my jaw.  I jumped on the same setups when the highly polished Timeless Ti became available and I like it very much. A few weeks ago I received a Carbon Shaving razor which I find is a bit more aggressive than the Timeless 95 which I attribute to a more blade forward design. So now I alternate happily between the two but still want more efficiency while keeping the smoothness. At first my goal was to get something more than the 68 but less than the 95 and the 1.05 gap seemed to be the recommended choice. After becoming very comfortable with the 95 and the Carbon I want still something a bit more so thinking either the 1.15 or 1.25. Please correct me if I am off base but the 1.15 would provide the same efficency as the 95's and the Carbon so thinking the 1.25 in sb would be the unicorn despite how you enablers have tempted me with the higher gaps or  even a wild combo like a 1.55 / 1.15 DC. Still questioning if the higher gaps would be too much for a daily driver. One more thing - I am not concerned about reducing my passes to two. I will let the shave determine how many passes are needed. I do prefer shaving everyday or on occasion, skipping a day. Not looking to mow down 4-5 days of growth with a single pass....
Do yourself a favor ... IMHO... skip the 1.15 and go 1.25 ...... or higher. I have a DC 1.15 OC/1.25 SB, and a OC 1.25 in WR2. Not that the 1.15 is too shabby, but the 1.25 is great. Arguably the 1.15 OC equals the 1.25, but that is an argument, and not definitive. Seems like it to me, but I could be wrong, I was wrong once before.  Rolleyes

Though the question wasn't directed to me, I feel qualified to answer since I'm ate up with DCs, and with separate heads with the same gap in SB/OC.

In a DC I use the OC for the first WTG pass because it is considered by some (me included) as more aggressive, so it does the heavy lifting.

I do the ATG with the SB and it is as smooth as silk. I'd be interested in how others divvy up the work load.

Took the leap of faith last night and ordered the wr2 1.25 sb in mirror polish ( just had to as it is my first WM) with wrh2 hollow standard length handle and wra1 stand both in polished basic/texture.

I couldn’t help myself and requested a TI as it’s on my wish / bucket list and, if granted, increase gap to 1.35. James is very clear that due to volume of orders TI’s are not an option at this time. But if you don’t ask.....

My sincere thanks and appreciation to all who have generously provided cogent reasoning in choosing the 1.25 gap. Expect James to send final invoice today.

That's great!

Sucks about titanium though as I don't expect his volume of orders to decrease....EVER!!

Looks like prices of Titanium Wolfman might go up. Should be even rarer since it seems output on those will be scarer then ever.

Edit: Prices on secondhand market.
