What gap size did you decide on?

Talk about coincidences.....there's a guy who just sold a WR2 1.15 with a WRH2 handle....and you just received one.
AND
You both share the same tastes in counter top marble.

If you saw the two side by side it would be obvious

We updated the kitchen after we moved in, but left the countertops as-is. I often wish we had switched them out, too....probably for quartz.
However the Granite worktops are equally lovely...
I'm Definately torn between the Baltic brown & the giallo ornamental.....

There's a self styled shave guru on an aussie forum who is a strong advocate of the WR2 0.95 gap.
His reasoning:
"When it comes to Wolfman I just trust James and his initial plate release. On all his other 3 models (BBS-1, WR1, Guerilla)
the initial (and in 2 cases only) blade gaps just work brilliantly - so I know the initial (0.95) WR2 will also work brilliantly.
All the discussions about larger blade gaps just bore me..."
He probably also thinks the original iPhone 4 is the best ever.
Yeah, I get it. There is a self styled shave guru here that blasts me for lack of technique because I use large gap razors, then admits he prefers them himself. Whatever. My opinion is just that, my opinion. Yall are free to skip over my poo. Hell, maybe you will get lucky and find a "block" button somewhere.

Some people clearly don't understand the razor geometry,
Ultimately the gap is only there to clear spent stubble & soap, a larger gap in a well designed razor with accurate blade set simply creates more blade exposure hence a closer shave is possible....there are several ways to adjust the set & exposure of the blade in a DE to create a more efficient razor other than gap alone.
A straight razor has a rather large blade gap and huge blade exposure providing a shave second to none!
A large gap DE can only hope to get close to a straight for me......still looking......Wr2 1.55...... .....Invoice due any moment.......
I don’t know. I think YMMV is always important to remember and no one persons opinion should be taken as anything else than what it is - an opinion.
I will reach for a straight over DE any day...Even over a WR2. However my taste in wolfmans is .61 and .67 wr1 and 1.05 in wr2 with 1.15 used from time to time.
For me the edge on a straight razor will never feel anything like a DE blade. I would NEVER want to use a de blade the same way as a straight. They’re more different than they are alike.
My straights all feel much more mild on the face than a 1.25 wr2. Again, YMMV, and my opinion. I would reach for a .95 wr2 over a 1.25 any chance I could.
