Wolfman WR2 Head Discussion

In order to solve "the which gap do I choose" struggle I shimmed my Timeless .95 polished DC OC / SB with the outgoing feather. If recall correctly, the consensus is the WM 1.15 is in the same neighborhood as the Timeless .95 and with the shim it is close to simulating the 1.25. Would this be a correct assumption? More blade feel for certain but not an issue going WTG and XTG. More efficient especially under the jaw which requires a bit of buffing. AGT was another story where it was rough around the chin, mouth and lips and had my first weeper on my chin in a long time. After quick rinse with cold water and the alum block I felt some mild to noticeable stinging. I attribute both to my need to refine my technique with a more aggressive set up.

Thank you Starman. As my order was placed on 9/6 it’s good to know my turn at batcwill be next month. I can start ushering out the tumbleweeds sooner than later. In the meantime I can focus my crazy on which gap to order which seems to change everyday. Perhaps a support group is warranted or just get the largest gap and skip all the intermediate steps.

I wouldn't blame anyone for being uncertain o n blade gap..I've read through this entire thread and more elsewhere, and I'm still waffling on what gap to order. Conflicting reports and the recent trend towards high gaps has muddied the waters for me. The cost and difficulty of obtaining a new razor raise the stakes in getting it right the first time.
I've been debating the 1.15 or 1.25 sb. I can use the Timeless.95 sb or Karve D plate daily. I like the Karve E plate when I get a bit scruffy but it would be a bit overboard for my skin and beard growth if used daily. I'd like to keep to my rotation of using the same razor and soap for the life of a blade (3 shaves), so an overly aggressive razor wouldn't be ideal for me.
I put my order in on the 6th, so I'll have to make up my mind soon. It may likely end up being a last minute decision, but I'm looking forward to it!

Thanks, that's helpful! I put in my order for a 1.15 originally. The huge gaps coming out recently was maybe pushing me to go higher, but 1.05-1.15 is probably a better bet for how I shave.

I think you have chosen well....the 1.15 SB does the work of the T95 SB
Never got along with the latter as its pretty heavy and I could never get
bloodless shaves from it.

Thanks!, I do really like the aggressive/efficiency level of the .95. I been using a SS head with the Ti handle and I really like the balance. I'm going for the hollow WR2 for that reason.

Does anyone have a WR2 and a Karve G Plate. I would be interested in a comparable gap? Karve lists the G as 1.36 with a 0.25mm exposure.

I've got a WR2 DC 1.15 OC/1.25 SB, and I've shaved with a friend's 1.55 SB. I can't compare the G plate to a specific WR2 gap, but I can say it is a nicely aggressive plate. If you like an aggressive razor it is a good one IME.
