Wolfman WR2 Head Discussion

I’ve done side by side shaves with both WR 2 1.25 SB and 1.25 OC in both SS and Ti and other than softer face. feel/smoother from the Ti the efficiency for me was identical.
I’ve also done this with Timeless recently using both matte and high polished Ti and SS with all 3 having the same . 95 blade gap and found no difference in efficiency and again only face feel going to both the Ti Models. All shave comparisons were done using Feather blades.

      Thats good info to me, I like it. Is his handle solid or hollow? I'm guessing a solid TI handle.

Gentleman, Yes my Ti Handle is a solid WRH7. I forget the weight but I believe Tester28 is correct at 60g

My Ti WR2 on the 90 mm solid WRH7 handle weighs 60g. My Ti WR1 on a 90mm Solid WRH2 Handle weighs 68 g

I saw a noticeable uptick in blade feel and performance in going from stainless 1.05sb to 1.15sb. The 1.15sb is giving me perfect 2 pass shaves with no touch up. I indicated on the Google form that I wanted a 1.25sb as I didn’t want to stray too far from the configuration that I find ideal right now. I hope there’s a difference enough to be able to tell between the 1.15 and 1.25 without losing a good thing.

I’ve also come to the conclusion that in the WR2 for me the OC doesn’t offer up anything over the SB. I find the SB smoother and just as efficient in the gaps I’ve tried so I’m sticking with SB from here on out in the WR2 head. Not that the OC was bad at all I actually liked it too...but I found the feel of the SB more to my liking. I think the larger native gaps native to the WR2 head style allow it to tackle a wider variety of conditions. In the WR1 head style I only have OC’s ...as I found in that head that there was no difference in smoothness between comb types and the open comb navigated my heavier growth better especially on the first pass.

For me there’s quite a bit of difference in face feel between the SB and OC especially in the higher gaps with the SB being noticeably smoother but for some strange reason it’s not as noticeable on the Ti Version of the exact same gap so what I’m saying is where I found the OC side of the 1.25 SS has more blade feel and I hate using the term but almost a bit harsh whereas the 1.25 OC in Ti does not have the same face feel nor do I feel any harshness whatsoever. So that’s still a shave comparison I’d like to revisit with even more focus on just the face feel of both but unfortunately I don’t have the SS version in my den only the Ti in the 1.25 OC.. With said I still find the SB side even smoother and I’ll probably not be buying any more WR2 OC’s moving forward even in the Ti razors

I found Pretty much the same thing with my WR2 1.15 SB Being Ideal.... If I were lucky enough to snag another one... Don't know if I would go with the 1.25 or maybe the 1.35 Just would go with the WRH1 Handle instead of my WRH2... Full Polish of course!

Day 2/7 1.45SB

After 24 hours the face still looked respectable and would have passed muster for
any out-of-home activity except, perhaps, testifying at a public hearing. While my cheeks
had less regrowth, the stubble on the neck had grown back a tad faster.

So loaded in a Pol on its 2nd use and went to town. Shave was appreciably smoother
since the growth wasn't as gnarly and rough as my 72 hour growth on day 1. Audio was
present but not as high pitched as it was when cutting a heavy beard.

I did my usual 2 passes WTG and ATG...and a XTG pass that I only do on my neck, east to west
and vice versa. Im not yet feeling the blade vanish after the first pass...where there is hair, I feel it.
But...very nice shave and once again, the need for less buffing was apparent. My lower neck looked positively
more cheerful and irritation free. Im really liking this aspect and beginning to see it as a strong benefit.
What absolutely amazed me was that, once again, this razor did not cut me, or come across as threatening in any way.

The brushed satin finish laughed off the glue spot smudges, and all it took was a few seconds to wipe it dry and
store it away with the head loosened for more drying.

The 1.45 has created some questions that I didn't have before...what if this is the standard gap that does it for me?
Is there even a point in going lower? This has me a bit rattled for sure....what will my reaction be to a 1.55 in Ti?
I have received the second generic email confirmation, so there's still time to run the 1.45 consecutively for a couple of
weeks. All I can say is, if the 1.45 was my only razor right now, I wouldn't be too bothered.

Some days, it just all comes together.  This was the best shave I've had in some time.  It was my first use of GD Fortis.  I abused it. Kicked it. Treated it wrong.  Still wouldn't leave me.  2nd use Feather blades. Two beautiful razors. A brush handle that glows in the sunlight, stuffed with some very soft badger hair.  This shave had it all, men.  Just damn.  Gotta be a good day.

Thanks for running this comparison....seems like the end benefit would be a little more comfort with Ti...which
is aways welcome on a high blade gap.

The Ti razors are more comfortable, for sure. Not sure it's worth the extra $$$. If you have the SS, you aren't really missing a whole lot.
