Aye....no easy answers there...I think I'll just stick to SB moving forward.

I personally have noticed that I prefer the shave with certain razor heads OC, and others SB. With the Wolfman .61 either or, with the .74 either. I have the .86 in OC only, so I'm not sure if I'd prefer the SB, but the OC is fine for me.

A Blackbird I prefer the OC, and the Tradere I prefer the SB 2nd gen. I have the OC Tradere in 1st gen only, and I know they made a change or two to the geometry, so I can't say how I'd like the OC 2nd gen.

The ATT slant I definitely prefer the SB, though the OC is not bad at all. Anyway, for this shaver anyway, it is not as simple as preferring one format across the board. Should I grab the brass ring next time around I'll order a DC 1.15 OC, and 1.25 SB.

I figure I'm better off with the wider gap, assuming more aggressiveness, in the SB, and the smaller in OC to open it up to be more efficient. I was leaning to going 1.05/1/15, but Loot, and others have convinced me to increase the gaps. I'm not ready to gamble on 1.35 or 1.45 .... yet ...  Smile

The Wolfman WR1 OC is very nice but I think I like his SB sides more.
The only OC that has blown me away is the vintage Gillette RFB (#77 set)
Heck of a razor that goes neck to neck with a WR1 0.80OC.

Two of my favorite OCs are the 1934 and '36 Gillette Aristocrats. I also like the Senator, and Sheraton OCs.

Are all WR2 caps interchangeable? Are blade gaps based strictly of of base plate dimensions? When considering selling, buying, or trading is it recommended that caps and base plates stay together?

Always send them together. It doesn’t have any bearing on the gap but there can be issues especially with the wr1 posts fitting correctly.
