Well I had a WR-1/WR-7 handle brushed a few years back, since sold, that was a nice finish. Better than the Guerrilla, though that was pretty nice as well. The mirror polish is ... well, like a mirror Smile

Looks like a mirror polished SS will now cost $450 USD

A friend of mine, Robert Williams, makes straight razors. That is his sole means of support for some years now. We were talking once about a project he was doing for a SR razor forum. Whether to make the 200 razors he was doing for them mirror or satin.

He told me that it had to be satin to keep the cost from being prohibitive. He said that you can be in the final stages of polishing and one moments inattention and if the blade wasn't 'shot', it put you back at square one.

I imagine one reason it takes James so long between drops is his perfectionism, and mirror polishing. I don't blame him for wanting to be compensated for the extra labor.

I have a polished wr1 and I would definitely call that a mirror polish. I’m not willing to pay an extra $200 for it though. Don’t get me wrong, I like my Wolfman and the finish on mine is near perfect. The price increase just gets it to the point where I would rather spend my money on something else. I’m not even saying he’s over priced because I know a lot of work goes into it. It’s just more than I care to spend on a razor. I wouldn’t sell mine for the current price, but I wouldn’t pay that much either, if that makes sense.

I wish he lowered the price of Basic Wolfman (Head + Handle Machined Finish) a bit more and increased the price of polished even more. Those who want Jewellery can go ahead and pay diamond-like price. And those (myself included) want to try 'another good razor' can get the machined razor at a great price. So a $350CAD for basic razor and $750 or more for Jewellery.

I would be happy just being able to freaking buy any version of what he sells.

looks like the drop-down menus for SS have been fixed...

regular polished / brushed handles are down to $150 from $250

but a mirror polished head is an additional $200 and a mirror polished handle is an additional $150

Presuming A Miracle happens... And the Gods Deems me worthy. What do you guys think I should go with? I know I want a WR2 SS WRH2 90mm Solid But I don't know If I should get the 1.15mm OR 1.05mm ???

I have a Timeless SB in .68 and .95, and the .68 is not enough, but If I use the .95 more than once and a while it Beats Me Up!... I think a Timeless in .82 would be perfect if they made it.

A Game Change .84 is No Prob, and I like Fat Boy on #5

Opinions?

BTW: Very Sensitive Skin, and Course Beard. I was born with a 5 O'clock Shadow! LOL!

Thanks, Tony
