IIRC, I think you have a Ti WR2 1.15 as well as a WR1 0.86 in rotation.

Was chatting to someone who has both these razor gaps in SS... they said the 1.15 "made my 0.86 redundant".

That would kinds scare me off a 0.86 WR1 if i had the 1.15 WR2....so looking more closely at 0.91 or 0.94

Indications are 0.91 will be a little less than 1.25......94 a little below 1.35 (in efficiency)

All of this is very subjective, but I find the WR2 1.15 a touch less efficient than my WR1 .86, and a touch more efficient than my WR1 .74, so I would guesstimate it’s close to a WR1 .80.

I think you’re looking at this all wrong. These are functional pieces of art with fit and finish to the highest standards. These Razors put a smile on my face every time I use them, and give me great shaves every time. I appreciate the designs, and I appreciate all the work that went into creating them. I have a couple WR1 .74’s that I love as daily drivers as well as the WR2 1.15. For a couple days growth I have a WR1 .86 or a WR2 1.25. I love how nimble the WR1 is, and I love how smooth the WR2 is. Redundant? Maybe. But I enjoy each of the designs both in form and in shave. If you can justify it to yourself for any reason that you “need” a different blade gap or model, then I think you’re on the right track  Big Grin !

If you were after just one Razor to rule them all and as a daily Shaver, I’d either get a WR1 .80, or a WR2 1.15.

Very well put Hunter. Can't argue with anything you said as it matches my experience. Both heads have pros and cons. An 86 may produce a similar result as a 1.25 but the journey is quite different. The WR2 seems to benefit more from Titanium than the WR1. Granted I have limited experience with the WR1Ti. Ti takes a little of the bite out of the WR2 over SS. I find it much more comfortable actually. WR1...not so much, kinda the opposite actually.

An 80OC or a 1.15SB would hit my sweet spots for daily drivers. But daily shaves aren't my thing. But if I had to shave everyday...I'd keep those two and sell the rest.

The only "redundancy" I found was with other razors. So they all got sold. It's hard to reach for anything else. Either of the Wolfman heads, with a 3 gap span, are better shavers than anything else I've owned, on my face anyway.

The short answer is blade feel. If you like it, go WR1. If you don't, track down the WR2 line. That doesn't mean the WR2 has ZERO blade feel but it's muted from the WR1 on the first pass and then settles in the background quietly afterward.

Once you pick the head, you can narrow down you gap. Read this whole thread, if you haven't, it's full of good information. If you want the Cliff's notes, Hunter and Tester explained it as well as I could. Their head/gap comparisons are the same in my den.

Thanks! I think I'm set on the 0.95 WR2.
I'll keep following this thread, I think someone was going to compare the 0.95 with the 1.05.

I just had a Beautiful Shave today with my Ti WR2 1.25. Three days growth, three pass Shave that was smooth and efficient as can be. I’m BBS with no irritation. I’m happy I’ve got the 1.25 for days like this when I’ve got a little extra growth. If I were to Shave tomorrow I’d use my 1.15 as I think the 1.25 would be a bit much for me as a daily driver. I’m happy I’ve got both options in my arsenal.

Bye the way, Scott’s Soaps and Aftershave’s from Declaration Grooming are outstanding!

That Shave, oh my.....
Thanks for the kind words, Hunter.

Talk to me about that Seville! This was my first use. Great soap, great scent. It's hard to beat the resulting shave. I guess now I need to graduate and start buying brushes to match the soap to take those SOTD shots to the next level! Yours always impress.

You guys with the 1.25s amaze me...that you can do more than one pass (and three passes, no less!) with the 1.25 side. Even with multi day growth, I have one pass with the 1.25 OC in me, then I need to use a more mild gap.

Have an exhaustive review in process comparing duFour razors bbs, wr1 and wr2 including metrology. Shall endeavour to conclude come the dawn.  When complete it will be readily apparent why all these razors would continue in popularity and hold value - equal but different as penned by Puccini in Recondita Armonia:

Recondita armonia di bellezze diverse!
È bruna Floria, l'ardente amante mia.
E te, beltade ignota, cinta di chiome bionde,
Tu azzurro hai l'occhio,
Tosca ha l'occhio nero!

L'arte nel suo mistero,
le diverse bellezze insiem confonde...
Ma nel ritrar costei,
Il mio solo pensiero,
Ah! Il mio sol pensier sei tu,
Tosca, sei tu!
