I received my Ti WR2 1.15 SB today. I’ll be able to compare it to my Stainless WR2 1.15 SB as well in order to give a comparison between the two materials and whether or not I notice a difference between the shaves.

Very nice! That's the same handle I want. Looking forward to your comparison.

SOTD ... Ti vs SS WR2 DC 1.15/1.05, Round 1
Efficiency: SS
Comfort: Ti
I am going use each on the opposite side of my face tomorrow and see if the results are the same as today. One conclusion I can already draw is that I like the WHR2 handle WAY more in Ti than in SS, even though I have the hollow SS handle.

Every head I've unwrapped has been assembled, with no paper between top cap and baseplate. The head assembly is then wrapped in his black napkin and taped with gold tape. Then it's wrapped in bubble wrap.

I've unwrapped a couple of them and never had an issue with the two head components rubbing together. The napkin would have to be loosened...and then wrapped in loose bubble wrap...and given enough room in the box not to smoosh it all together and prevent movement during shipment. Also, the WR2 head kinda locks it together. There is very, very little wiggle when it's assembled.

Don't read this as me not believing you, I'm in no position. I am curious more than anything. Let's see pictures of the scratches.

Thanks! The photography is a (slow) work in progress...

Here you go, as I said they are light so the camera had a difficult time picking them up, almost look like swirl marks. Either way my 1.05 is flawless. And before anyone screams blasphemy it just needs to be cleaned, it has been and is spotless except for the fingerprint on the edge[Image: cOVzjt1.jpg][Image: t6mwC0Z.jpg][Image: 68IbY2N.jpg][Image: OgUp7JG.jpg][Image: 5uoaeVj.jpg][Image: NnuLTkU.jpg]

Whoa...

Listen, I'm just trying to help. Don't shoot the messenger and I'm in no way accusing you of anything. Solid?

The marks on the top of the baseplate tell me the two pieces cap apart at some point inside the box. The scratches are longer than the play in the head when it's together...dramatically longer. Was the head assembled when you opened the box? Did you notice it as soon as you unboxed and did you take pictures? Please say yes.

How do you clean these razors? Again, no offense. I have no dog in the fight one way or another...I'm just trying to help.

No matter how you answer, if that's how you unboxed it, I feel for you my friend. Outside of one small incident of no meaning, mine have all been perfect. If you contact James, I'd really like to know what the resolution is. Publicly or privately. I feel for you brother.

Knowing how those things are packaged, I opened one this morning myself, I can't wrap my head around how that could have possibly happened. Unless James packed yours with a bobcat.

It was still together and the packaging was solid. Yes I took pictures right away but you can see it better in these so showed these. As far as cleaning it I did the same way I do every single time I use my 1.05. I run it under warm water, set on polishing cloth, pat (not wipe)with same cloth then use other cloth to polish clean. By cloth I mean the black one it comes with. I sent him an e mail, waiting for response (it's only been 30 minutes) He's been nothing but cool everytime I spoke with him. Definitely not the omnipotent force some people assume he is so I'm not really worried. More just wondering what would work to polish them out myself. I've polished steel on my motorcycle a hundred times but never a mirror finish like this.

Flitz it. Flitz is non-abrasive. If it was indeed a "factory" defect, I'm 1000% certain it will be made right.   Everyone makes mistakes, even DuFour I suppose.  In all my interactions with him, his customer service has been exceptional. And don't think you are being a difficult customer if you have to send it back.  You can't be any more difficult than me with my incessant off the menu requests. Big Grin I would imagine James would appreciate the courteous feedback.

Back to cleaning.  What you do is great. Same thing I do but that only gets them so clean.  For a thorough clean, Scrubbing Bubbles and a soft toothbrush will get rid of all the soap scum and the blade glue.  I buff them dry afterward with a clean polishing cloth.  Good as the day DuFour packaged it himself.  You may not have Scrubbing Bubbles across the pond tho.
