Question for guys using the Basic Polish razor.

Does your blade still leave glue spot smudges on this surface....it 100% does on mirror
polish and I spend 10 minutes extra just washing it all off.

What blades are you using? I don't seem to have this problem with my wizamets

Just about every blade...some more than others, some less.
Have used Pols, Nacet, 7oclock green, Platinum, Astra, Feather,
I have a truckload of Wizamets coming....if those solve the problem
I'll be relieved.

I don't have the basic polish in a WR head, but I do have it in the short lived Guerrilla James put out. So that would be mirror, brushed satin (both extra $) and basic matte (the guerrilla). All of them require cleaning of the glue spots. I have yet to acquire Wizamets. I can put up with the glue. I don't like it of course, but I have 100s of blades in my stash, and I'm not going to abandon them, even for a glueless alternative.

To avoid glue spots I use a Q Tip to rid the blade of glue before using. No glue spots or tea stains. Takes a few minutes and saves OCD aggravation. Must be clean, must be clean.......,

I just use a Kai blade. My favorite out of everything I have tried. Although I do use feathers, wizamat, and perma-sharps from time to time to change things up.

I have tried that...and all it does for me is spread the glue spot from one part of the blade to another....lol.

I too have tried removing the glue pre shave. I've used lighter fluid and a tissue. Tried it a couple of times and decided I'm better off, and safer, to do a clean up of the razor head post shave. YMMV

I read that some use the outgoing blade to remove the glue spots on the new incoming blade

Has anyone tried the Medical swabs used to remove the glue left behind from EKG pads? The glue seams very similar, I shall trial & report later.....
Available from Chemists/Pharmacies

Should be perfect....
